Ive frankly never seriously considered a tattoo, but following my 14 year old daughters passing in June of 2016, a result of her and I being hit head-on by a drunk driver on Christmas Eve the year before, I wanted to get something in her honor. As a Christian, I wanted to support a shop with similar values and was pleasantly surprised to find Salt and Light nearby. Joel was my artist and he very patiently worked with me on some ideas I had until we settled on the right design. He asked if it was alright to pray before he started, which I was more than agreeable to. It didnt take very long, was not the least bit painful, and I was quite happy with the results. In my case, the healing process was minimal. I highly recommend Joel and Salt and Light - especially if you are a newbie like me.

Theres only two shops in Arizona I trust, Salt and Light, and Inkbomb. You cant go wrong here with these artists, some of the most hardworking, creative people Ive ever met. Ive seen reviews where people are complaining about over working, scarring and their skin getting messed up, thats not the artists, thats the customers trying to find people to blame for not properly taking care of their tattoos. If you want quality, and you want artists who care, then Salt and Light is the place.

Cj is an amazing, talented, tattoo artist! He strives to give his best on every tattoo, paying strong attention to detail, and listens to your needs. Great conversation, makes you feel like youre at home, getting tattooed by your best friend! Hes EXTREMELY NEAT, hes won a ton of awards, he customizes and draws out your ideas to give you the best tattoo! I highly recommend him and this shop! These guys are true artists, drama free, no diva attitudes, very nice, humble, and fun!

This tattoo shop is the best!! I love Matty, and his tattoo work. I am a repeat customer, and can not see myself ever going anywhere else. A comfortable atmosphere, Matty is so talented, and so helpful. I started with Matty years ago, and followed him everywhere, along with many people. I love the vibe and energy of Salt and Light, its a great place to get a remarkable tattoo. Plus, you get to play Streetfighter2 for free.

Salt & Light Tattoo is one of the best shops in Arizona. My favorite artist is CJ and he is very talented and absolutely amazing. He recently reworked a tattoo that I was really unhappy with and it turned out better than I imagined it would. He always makes an effort to listen to what you really want and sets realistic expectations to give the best tattoo possible. His work definitely speaks for itself.

This place sucks! Im an artist who does credible work. I do it for fun as a hobby because I like to. Ive never had any desire or need to be in a shop. They only sell supplies to "professional artists only" think about all the untapped potential these clowns pass up.. SKIN DEEP is where its at! I received a Terrible tattoo here! Overworked so badly caused deep scabbing in several places, became infected and turned into scars. Not to mention the tattoo is ugly! My flower actually looks like a demented clown face! It is so clear that I wonder if it wasnt done intentionally. DO NOT TRUST YOUR SKIN TO THIS STUDIO!!
