I never wrote a seriously BAD reveiw before- never had to... until today... Called King Appliance in Dothan and asked for their lowest price on a range. Woman told me "$188" and yes, they did have them in stock. I verified that these were "new" stoves- "yes," was the answer. I drove 70 miles- the was a good deal, after all. Upon arriving, the salesman kept showing me one for $269. I asked for the $188 one that prompted me to drive so far. I was told that the price was only for a floor model that someone had stripped key parts from- Switches and insulation. "Oh, wait a minute, this one is on lay-a-way. Dont have any more. But this $269 one is the best deal in town", he said. In my home state, they would not have been able to sell this thing. I dont even think you could ever do worse at a garage sale. Apparently, "Buyer Beware" is still the Law of the Land in Dothan or the people there just dont complain much. I said something about "Bait-and-Switch". He heard that before by better and worse people than myself; Wasnt the first time, sure wasnt to be the last- rolled off him like water off a ducks back. I drove half a mile to Lowes and for $269, I could have bought a new range, right-out-of-the-box, and with a few more features. Oh, and Mr King Appliance salesman: yes- it even had the little light in the oven. Ill be buying my stove from one of the majors, not little rip-off emporiums like this. Oh, and if you ever wondered why the major chains are killing these Mom-and-Pops, consider this: its probably about time. Had this happened at Home Depot or Best Buy, I wouldve walked out with a range for $188- the price quoted to me.

My husband and I had looked at furniture hear a few weeks ago. We were told they had good prices but sometimes practiced shady business but nonetheless reasonable for a cash deal. They do seem cheaper than the others in town, however they are NOT cheaper nor do they have nicer stuff than they chandler warehouse in daleville. I was able to purchase a leather sofa, love seat, and rug today for $575 with tax. MUCH nicer quality than Kings. I called to ask them if they would beat anyones prices this afternoon. They said yes by far. I proceeded to tell them I had bought sometime much nicer and cheaper at Chandler. What they had even slightly comparable in quality was 1000 and I told them. She proceeded to tell me no maam I no better than that you are trying to lie. I said no I will bring my statement and show you if you dont believe me so you can see their are other people with low prices and actually have quality merchandise. She turned really defensive and from these reviews assume I was speaking to the lady named Norma. I suggested that maybe they were the ones lying and I could totally see why they had bad feedback with google reviews and the BBB. She then threatened to get me thrown in jail for slander for calling her a liar. HAHA!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I then proceeded to being the bigger person and ended the call. My husband is a manager and my parents own a business and I dont understand how anyone could treat their customers or potential customers this way and have any. When you have to get so defensive maybe you are hiding something? HUMMM?!?! Way to shady of a place for me and my family!!

This store is the WORST furniture store in the entire wiregrass. I went there to get a fridge. Bought and paid for it. Setup delivery. Went through all the RIGHT steps. Should have known better as the lady who checked us out was a rude. But proceeded. On the day of delivery, we were SUPPOSED to be called by the delivery person--no call. Checked in to find out what was happening at 3PM and were told that the delivery service TRIED to deliver and was unsuccessful, so we needed to come pickup our fridge. Instead, I headed in to get a refund. Then I went to Lowes and got real service. As far as I am concerned, this place should be closed down and run out of town. I will NEVER do business with them again and I will ALWAYS steer people away. So far, I figure I have cost them at least $50,000 in sales...all because they were too rude to realize the customer is what keeps them in business! If attitude determines altitude; Kings is "Death Valley!" If you MUST shop at Kings, make sure you TAKE your merchandise with you. They are INFAMOUS for switching out what you bought with something of lesser value upon delivery. Additionally, I have steered more than 100 customers away from this business...unfortunately, there are a lot of LOW IQ people here you just dont learn! They keep going back and then all they want to do is complain. I am NEVER going back to this store!

I have bought a fridge and a window a/c unit when my central unit went out. I think the other reviews are to harsh. When I bought my window unit the other stores had already sent what they had back b/c of change of season. The unit came with all of the accessories and had no dents or dings and was cheaper than the other stores previous products anyways. Now on to my fridge: Did a good bit of price shopping b/c like most of the people in this area I did not have a fortune to spend. I just needed your basic fride and freezer. Nothing fancy. I found one at Kings was exactly what I was looking for at the price i was looking to spend. I even got to choose the color! Other than the seal on the freezer not sealing tight (which is easily replaceable but no need to as long as you push freezer closed) everything is pristrine. They even installed the auto icemaker in the freezer before it was picked up. You get what you pay for. Everybody is looking to spend nothing for the best products in the world. If you buy cheap you get cheap plain and simple. Shop around there are plenty of home improvement stores in the surrounding area. Ask alot of questions about the product. I have never had a problem with the customer service there. Everyone has been welcoming and friendly. Thanks

I like this place pretty well. Ive done business there a few times over the last several years. Good prices, large selection, fairly quick service. My last purchase was a recliner almost a year ago. Decent price, however it broke after about 3 months. Called Norma, she scheduled a service call without any hassle. The technician came out a week or so later and then I didnt hear from him again for over a month, so I called back. He was waiting on parts. He showed up several weeks later and fixed it. The chair manufacturers warranty says it doesnt cover floor models, which is what all of Kings furniture is. I was expecting a bill for repairs but never got one! Nice surprise. My washing machine and dryer I got there 4 years ago still run well and so does the chest freezer. Ill shop there again.
