Buyer beware. I bought a 2011 Dorsoduro 1200 from them. As I am on the other coast I had to have the bike shipped and bought it sight unseen. I expected that a dealer would be OK and better than a private party. I was told the body work was not broken or scratched and that the bike was in perfect condition. The salesman also told me the bike was getting checked out to make sure everything was good. I was really excited to get this bike so when I noticed the body work around the ignition was a bit off center I did not let it bother me. Then I noticed the left tank shroud was cracked by the top mounting screw. After the salesman tried to blame it on the shipping company a little research on the Aprilia forum I found this was due to the gas tank swelling from ethanol in the fuel. This is not an uncommon problem on this bike but as there are more 750s it is much more discussed in the 750 forum. Kind of hard to believe an Aprilia dealer would not be aware of this common problem especially when you have to notice the body work being way off center of the ignition every time you turn the ignition on to start the bike. To make things worse the bike had a problem with the engine. After talking to the service manager (JB) who was really helpful and sympathetic to my situation, he determined the bike needed a new MAP sensor. This requires removal of the swollen gas tank that is almost as challenging as putting a swollen gas tank back on. Bottom line, I was told this was a bike in good running condition without any damaged body work. What I got is a bike that needs a new MAP sensor to run right. A new gas tank as the swollen one may not be able to be reinstalled after removing it to put in a new MAP sensor. And a left side tank shroud that flew off and broke into 3 pieces as it was broken by the swollen gas tank. :(

I only gave 2 stars because the work was done right, even though they overcharged and took way longer. Im writing this after my second and last trip for work to Redline. Both times, the work took longer than advertised both over the phone and at the counter. The first time, I dropped my bike off to have the fork seals replaced before a week-long business trip. When I hadnt heard from them at the end of my trip, I called and they said they were just getting around to ordering the parts. Today, I went in to have my rear tire mounted and balanced. I was quoted $34 labor over the phone to mount/balance a tire that I purchased elsewhere. A great price and why I chose Redline over their competition in Newport News. But when I went to pay, it was double that. Explanation: the $34 price is if you bring the tire and wheel already off the bike! Seriously?!? When I asked about the obvious miscommunication by their rep on the phone and if there was any middle ground, I got the flat, "The price is the price." So I will be taking my bike to Absolute Performance Cycles from now on. And Ill be advising the guys that I ride with out at the base to do the same.

Can I just say that I love my Monster 696! It has great power delivery, amazing brakes, and is averaging 48 miles per gallon. Also would like to add that Redline has been a great dealership to me. I recently went in for the bike 2000 mile checkup and service, and once I got there, got a call from my wife telling me she needed to go to the hospital immediately and I should get home quickly. I let John and Scott know about my circumstance, and they got my bike finished extremely quickly, even washing the bike for me, which definitely needed to be done, and I was off to get back home to my wife. Later that afternoon, we recieved a phone call from Dave, the owner, checking up as to the condition of my wife, who by the way is doing better. Very considerate. Also, have been on two Sunday Redline rides with them and others, and look forward to more. They start at 8 am, and usually home by about 12:30, just in time to spend the rest of the day with the family (great for happy wife and family)! Thanks Redline and the Staff!

I just bought a 2009 Aprilia Shiver from these guys this week. Jon was professional and upfront with my friend and I. He answered all of our questions and made the extra effort to make sure I was confident in my purchase and knew what I was getting. I did not get anything extra from them. No warranty, no financing, not even taxes/tags. Ive read all the reviews online and was frankly a little bit nervous buying from them. My fears were overblown and it was much better than I thought, but I was a good customer. If you want an excellent experience with these people like I did you must know what you want and know what questions to ask (bring a friend who does if you dont), and be well researched. If you want to be sold something, they will sell you whatever they can, expect nothing less. Ill be taking my Shiver to them for maintenance for the remainder of my time in the area, and like any owner who loves his motorcycle Ill be ensuring that each and every bit of work is done correctly and documented.

I have had both a BMW and a Harley serviced by Redline MotorSports, and I have been enormously impressed with their outstanding customer service and technical know-how. Just to show how much I appreciate Redlines service, I dont live all that far from a BMW bike dealership, and I have to drive right past a Harley dealership to get to Redline. I could choose either of those dealerships to service my bike, but instead I prefer to personal, respectful service provided by Redline. These guys have a very keen eye for potential issues while servicing a bike, and I am very appreciative of that. They have also shown a sincere willingness to work with me on ugrades Ive had done to each bike, going over various performance & pricing options so that I could select the option that best fit my needs (and budget). I trust this shop implicitly and would highly recommend them to any biker regardless of brand of bike.

Was looking to have a PC5 installed on my 09 BMW K1300S and called the owner, David Lillard, after being referred by another fellow who lives in same town as Redline whos also had work done on his BMW there. I live in coastal NC 225mi away and have been unable to find a conscientious business to work on my bike. Well everything I hoped for came to pass. Redline installed the module, then Dave spent 2 hours doing a custom map. The bike is totally different!! Smooth and powerful. Gained a very significant 18+hp and 10+ft-lb of torque at rear wheel. No more jerkiness or "quirkiness". Reduced the popping on decel through bikes aftermarket exhaust. And amazingly with all the this new-found power, the fuel mileage absolutely remained the same (bike continuously averages 47-48mpg). Im a highly pleased customer and absolutely go back for other specialty work or service. Sincerely, D.McC in Morehead City, NC
