Came in with a list of recommended running shoes to buy for stability control. Was told that I had to be evaluated first and waited about 10 mins for that process to tell me what I already knew. Was then handed off to sales person. Part of conversation was always whether or not I was a VIP member (and since Im not, it felt like I was a second class customer). Sales person brought out several pair of shoes while the rest of the dozen or so staff were were gathered around a Nike rep telling stories. I was only customer in the store and yet I was left alone just about the whole time in the store. Staff all cheered when someone rang a bell at the front of the store to announce a "sell." I got fed up with the staffs sense of self importance and the fact that no one had time to assist their only customer in the store. So I walked. No one even noticed. Weird interactions at this place -- its like theyre all shoe snobs. If youre not one of their chosen customers then go somewhere else.

I went to Road Runner Sports in Falls Church to look for a new running/walking shoe and had a great experience. I have some issues with knee and foot pain so didnt want to just buy a random shoe. The staff listened to all my concerns and performed a full comprehensive assessment to figure out what types of shoes would work best for me in terms of size, cushion and stability, and even made custom insoles right one site! I didnt realize they offered this service so this was a huge bonus for me. When it came time to select my shoes they brought out pair after pair while I decided and were nothing but helpful. The store was busy but the customer service was not effected, they were attentive and helpful the whole time. I would definitely recommend Road Runner Sports to anyone who has concerns about what types of shoe to buy to meet their specific needs.

These representatives will waste your time. Staff was far too aggressive up-selling their "VIP Membership" for a $20 fee. I had two representatives try, twice each, to sign me up while fitting. The man at the register then asked me if the previous reps had discussed the program with me. I said yes and that I was not interested, at which point he tried to upsell again. After I refused he made a hard sell by adding it anyway. I ended up leaving the store, annoyed at having no less than SIX attempts to up-sell this VIP program over the course of a 40 minute "experience" which should have been a 15 minute errant. I was also made to go through a 20 minute fitting process before I could even look at shoes. Associates literally said "this is our process here and I need you to wait for a fitting".

Wasnt impressed. I was standing at the counter, and the cashier saw me but decided to have an extended conversation with an associate about something unimportant (it may have been vaguely work-related, but you can discuss inventory later, okay?). Eventually she answered my question. RR Sports operates on a membership scheme, in which you have the privilege of paying them $25 per year to get minor discounts on items. I wear normal-sized clothes, but none were in stock, so even if I wanted to put up with the bad service and try to do the math on whether the membership vs. penalty prices would save me money, I couldnt. Left.

If youre a runner who spends at least a couple hundred a year on running shoes and accessories, the VIP plan will easily pay for itself through direct purchases across a broad selection of shoes and accessories in the store and an even broader online selection. The real value? the VIP plan allows you to explore shoe options with a 90 day comfort guarantee! Where else can you try a different design and return the shoes for exchange OR refund??? They are occasionally under staffed but the majority of the employees have good attitudes and some are very helpful.

Never sign up for their VIP program. NEVER EVER. I signed up over 4 years ago and disenrolled the next year and yet they keep charging me. I have went and visited the store twice and called and every year they refund my money and then the next year they CHARGE AGAIN. This has become a real hassle and totally uncalled for. The discount I received was totally not worth it. If you due sign up it will be for life -- trust me -- expect to pay $24.99 yearly until you die.

High quality shoes for a fair price. Treadmill gait analysis is offered here so it is a great store for figuring out the right running shoe for you. Good service, fair prices, and 90 day exchange guarantee with VIP membership. They arent cheap but usually one of the lowest prices I can find and the wear em and love em guarantee makes it the best place to buy for me. My only gripe is their custom insoles which, IMHO, are over priced and lower quality than other options.

Nice and friendly staff but not very open about the pricing of shoes and especially their insoles which i think are just a scam. You go through the whole process and are basically forced to buy them at a hefty 70 bucks a pair. They talk you into getting their vip membership, the whole store feels like a money racket. Same with the socks they let you wear they arent great at all. would not recommend getting your shoes here

Stoped by to exchange some shoes I bought online for my daughter. Diana had her fitted using the Shoe Dog and aanalyzing her stride on the treadmill. The shoes she selected for my daughter fit wonderful. The customer service provided by Diana was excellent. She also analyzed my wife and selected a pair of shoes that is fitted to her foot and not some pair that I thought would fit. Live this store.

I CANT BELIEVE NO ONE IS SUING THIS COMPANY!!! DO NOT JOIN THE VIP MEMBERSHIP. JUST GOOGLE THE ROAD RUNNER SPORTS SCAM. YOULL SEE WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. THEY AUTO-CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD WITHOUT YOU KNOWING AND THE ONLY WAY TO OPT OUT IS TO CALL THEM. THERES NO CANCEL MEMBERSHIP BUTTON. AND MAKE DAMN SURE YOU CANCEL IT BECAUSE THEY WILL SAY THEY CANCELLED IT AND NEVER DID LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME.

I went into the store this past Saturday, and was IMPRESSED!! The staff were very friendly, and helpful, and answered all of my questions about a couple a shoes. They were able to help me pick a great pair for my training, as well as some socks too! Dan was especially helpful and very knowledgable! If you have questions about that what type of shoe you should get, I highly recommend coming here.

Great staff that efficiently takes care of the customer from running profile to fitting to shoe selection. We ended up spending close to an hour there trying on 7 pairs of shoes between the two of us. The process felt very quick and efficient. The store offers a wide variety of shoes and I like that they bring out three pairs at once so you can make a comprehensive assessment.
