I just recently started thrift store shopping and out of all of the thrift stores Ive visited ( about 15 or so) the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store gets my vote for favorite! The store itself is small and not very easy to navigate and the parking lot is tiny but whats inside completely makes up for all of that! I was able to get designer jeans and a designer cashmere sweater, both in excellent pre-owned condition (no stains, no holes, no discoloration whatsoever) and I walked out without even spending $15.00!!! I wasnt able to spend as much time as I wanted in the store and cant wait to get back in there and find more great peices for my wardrobe!! Also I was very pleased to see that they do accept all major credit cards. I have noticed that some thrift stores do not and I tend not to carry cash if I can avoid it.

This would be the best thrift store in town if it was open later than 5pm. They really have a good organization system and they have excellent prices. I have found stuff for incredibly cheap around here. My wife and I brought home an awesome pair of green chairs cira 1970s, in excellent shape, for only 40/ a piece. If I had to choose anywhere to buy clothes from, this is the place. The reason they have excellent stuff if probably because they are the closest thrift shop to downtown and, well, Austin is the capital of weird.

This place was okay and Id probably stop in again if Im in the neighborhood. There was a lot to look at, but the clothes were jammed into the racks so tight I couldnt even see what was there. The clothes were also very disorganized and not with the sizes that were on the signs, so you really needed the patience to look through all of the size racks. Even with those challenges I did find a few things to buy and the prices were okay, especially for items on sale.

I love thrift stores that are run by little old ladies... Its like they dont know how to price things, so you can find some really really good deals- or some overpriced items that you immediately put down. They are very friendly here- and its near a lot of other places everyone should check out, whether they live in Austin or are just visiting.

This is a great place to find quality, used items. They run great sales too. Their new location is much cleaner and larger with better dressing rooms (still not great but a good improvement). From clothes to furniture, theyve got it. They also have additional services that they offer. Their staff is always the absolute sweetest!

Although this place is completely hit or miss, the "hit" visits are totally worth the "miss" visits. Vintage hand-beaded clutch for $2? Gone With The Wind soundtrack record in mint condition for $1.25? Those shoes Ive always regretted giving away in 10th grade for $2.99? Yes, please. A true treasure hunt.

This is my husband and Is favorite thrift store in Austin. They recently moved locations from their spot off of SoCo up to Braker, right off of north Lamar. The new space is very large and I thought pretty well organized. We always find something when we visit and you cant beat the prices!

always has at least one treasure when i go. some fancier dress for the ladies and lads up front - kind of too 90s prom for my tastes - but the back has better casual clothing. upstairs is a wonderland of records and, when the time is right, holiday decorations and kitsch galore.

Every once and a while you can find some real gems. We purchased a dresser here a few years back for cheap. The cashier asked us if we wanted to haggle the price down at all. When we said the price was fine he just went ahead and took $10 off with out us saying anything else.

The staff are great when helping people in need that is their purpose. The clothes that they have are cool and I know they get from two other main thrift stores so I love the variety! Its even better during the festivals and holidays! God bless their sales!

Cool Austin thrift store. It used to be on South Congress (SoCo) and it moved its hip SoCo vibe to the new location. They have added more services for people that need the help, so thats great. Finally, lots of parking. Great wraps in the new deli.

This is my favorite place to score some prime deals on clothing as bargain basement prices. The fun part is riffling through the racks for a sweet old concert tshirt or yet another tie dye for my hippie boyfriend. #30daychallenge#austin day 8

They have a huge amount of housewares and apparel at good prices. They also have sales from time to time. Though not that many small appliances. The largest supply of lamps that Ive ever seen at a thrift store. The sales staff is nice.

Visiting the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, was fine, but the main part of the Store to me, was a warm... Though there was a female worker in the store, that was a bit snippy to both me and my son....

The store is beautiful. There were fabulous this place everywhere. Unfortunately, none of the stuff on display is for sale. I didnt find anything I wanted to buy. Except, of course, for the things on display!

Good prices and merchandise. Customer service could be better. Also, saw the same price on tables, regardless of the condition, or what its made out of. But it is one of my favorite thrift stores.

Awesome finds, but the prices can be a little steep. Good option when youve exhausted the Goodwills in town!
