DISCLAIMER - This location only and DO YOUR HOMEWORK ABOUT THE CAR. GOOD & BAD Listing below. Good - The In-Store Staff! They are extremely polite, helpful, and really take the stress out of car buying. We worked with Chaz and he was outstanding. He was never pushy, was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about cars, and worked outrageously hard to get us through a very bad situation with our car. He never tried any pushy sales techniques and made sure we were completely satisfied regardless of the outcome. Everyone else there was wonderful as well. Especially, everyone in the paperwork department. THE BAD - YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK ABOUT THE CAR YOU ARE BUYING. If you decide to ship a car from another location, make sure you know that car inside and out before it arrives. We shipped a car in from New Mexico ($750) and the features listed on the website were wrong. BY A LOT. . When the car arrived. The cars trim model was wrong and the 4WD drive system was wrong. If Chaz and I didnt do our research to find out exactly what the trim model of the car actually was. I would have walked out of the store buying what I believed was a much more expensive trim level for a much more expensive price then what the car actually was. The website has a disclaimer that says “*Actual features of this car may differ. Contact store for more details.” So, make sure you match the model trim and all the features with the VIN#. SOLUTION - PLEASE READ - Non of the bad things listed below was this dealerships fault. It was 100% the dealership in New Mexico. This dealership including Chaz and his Manager bend over backwards for us to ensure we got to the bottom of the issue. They even got on the phone with DODGE and confirmed the towing capacity. Once they confirmed the vehicle was the wrong trim level. They re-priced the car and ensured that were were 100% happy with the vehicle we bough. They even said "If you want to walk away we completely understand". Everyone at this store was great. I highly recommend them but make sure if you buy a car you confirm every single feature and trim level matches what it says on their site.

I bought my car there a week ago from Kassie and Mike. I was car shopping for the first time in 10 yrs so I was nervous and unsure. I had gone to another dealership the day before and was pressured into buying a car which would have pushed my budget quite a bit. I saw a couple of cars online that I liked the look of so I went to this location to check them out. I was unsure about the whole "superstore" big box look of the place because I didnt think I would get the service I wanted. I walked in and was promptly greeted with a smile by Mike who began helping me right away. I told him which cars I was interested in and he took me straight to them and began asking me what I was looking for in a car and getting to know my needs. I liked that all the cars were unlocked so you could check them out as much as you wanted. Mike was great at answering all of my questions and didnt pressure me into any one car/style/price. When I was ready to test drive, Kassie took me on the test drive. She was great at answering all of my questions about the car and was very helpful. I explained my financing needs to them and they were quick to help. The financing part was the thing I was worried about the most, but Kassie put me at ease and the whole process was very quick and painless (unlike at the first dealership, I went to). I was able to get financing within my budget and they had a variety of interest rates/payment terms to choose from. Signing the papers was quite easy and everything was explained to me clearly and they put it all in a nice little package for me to keep it all in one place. Overall, it was the best car buying experience I could have hoped for and I will be telling all my friends who are looking for a car to go visit Carmax!

Fairly good sales but service manager was meaner than we expected from the way they advertise. We bought a car and the sales person was fairly knowledgeable, but not about the details of the warranty, however they called the main office and answered all the questions. We bought the full warranty, which seems like a good deal and covers a lot, but note that if the car breaks down outside normal business hours, or out of town, its a real hassle to get it fixed. It also took us a 24 hour turnaround to get the warranty work approved, so be prepared to leave the car overnight whenever getting repairs. Were okay with all that, but we had to go through the fine print during the close in order to get all the details and its something you should know before you buy. During the sale we ordered a lot of extras, which I dont recommend. They used Zebart, and they used some pretty cheap parts. For example we got the backup and forward sensors, and the glued a big knob to the dashboard that flashes green constantly while driving. Very irritating at night, the whole cockpit lights up. They bolted the on/off switch onto the steering column, between the turn signal and height adjuster, and I consider it dangerous to try to turn it off when driving. We talked to the service manager about this, and a few other items, and they were hesitant to do anything about it. The frontline service people were nice, but the service manager was very confrontational, borderline hostile. Really surprising, given the corporate image they are trying to project. All in all, a good experience if 1) you buy the warranty, but take the car elsewhere for repairs, and 2) you dont buy any extras from carmax.

Up until today, I have had a good experience with Carmax. I bought my Genesis from them and could not be happier. However, our experience this time while shopping for a car or SUV for my wife has been less than acceptable. I had them bring a Kia Optima EX up from Cincinnati to test drive. It went fine, though I have worked with three different people now, but it was fine except for a seat heater that was not working. I requested on their website, later that night, for a Murano to be brought over from Louisville as the one they had was a base model. I received a call today from one of the three people we have talked to that management was balking at having it brought over. Weve had one other car brought...from 35 miles away...and its their policy all over the website that they will do this, with no commitment. IT"S ON THEIR WEBSITE AS A POLICY. They, according to the caller, say weve drive too many varied cars (its my prerogative to find what we like, correct?) and even apparently thought I had asked for those cars to be transferred (they were on the lot, and it shouldnt matter its their policy, with a happy freaking face). So, in summary, it does not matter how many cars/SUVs weve driven, it should not matter we asked for two from close Carmax dealers to be transferred, it should not matter if we are looking at cars AND SUVs. What matters is they have a corporate policy, they need to stick to it. If I had asked for my 5th car to be transferred, sure, that seems excessive (though not against their policy), I didnt...just two. Will I buy now? Maybe, but they will need to win my business back.
