We were there on October 17th, 2015...it was our first time. We were very excited to see all the varieties of apples, especially Honeycrisp, which are our favorite.. We bought a bushel, and I could not wait to get home to Florida and make homemade applesauce, which has been a tradition of mine for about 25 years. Imagine my dismay, when apple after apple after apple was mostly brown on the inside! They looked fine on the outside, but were brown and diseased on the inside. A bushel of Honeycrisp apples was $44, and I threw out more than I was able to use. I cannot tell you how very disappointed I am, and not too happy we wasted so much money. We will probably not ever go back.

Weve been going to Barbers since the late 1970s (when we were "young"). We had friends who lived there. Our first visit was to the stone building with an open loading dock for picking up the apples. In the fall we order ahead for apple loaves and doughnuts (my husband loves them). At the appointed time of pick up, our order is warm from the oven which makes them very fresh for freezing. (They are great for freezing.) I give the loaves for Christmas presents and people just love them. We are now in our 70s and we say THANKS for the vision to carry on from the family who started the orchard. Keep up the good work.

Not only can you get produce that is Farm Fresh, their apple cider is second to none. That is just the beginning of a smorgasbord of homemade southern style items including turnovers, jams and jellies. Pick up some local honey while youre there. I could go on all day. If you will be going by or near Barbers Orchard, you should definitely get in the spirit of the South and slow it all down a little bit. Stop and take a look around. No one would fault you for thinking youd died and gone to heaven.

Stumbled upon this place while traveling in the area for Fall Color viewing. We purchased half a dozen donuts and cider. We found a spot near a river to sit and enjoy then. This was some of the best cider and donuts Ive ever had!! The donuts have an awesome apple and cinnamon spice flavor. The cider was spectacular. It is a good thing I do not live by. If I did Id be eating donuts and drinking cider every day!

The make their famous Morning Glory muffins pretty much every hour at Barbers. Do yourself a favor an pick up a dozen... anything less and youll be sad that you didnt have enough for breakfast the next morning. Excellent selection of apples, and weve tried pretty much all of them over the years. Ambiance of the shop leaves something to be desired, but the quality of the food does not!

The apple turnovers are great....we stopped and got cider and an apple cake to take for Thanksgiving to our sons.......Wanted to try the cinnamon donuts...we only got 4 and 3 sharing going home over the mountain... pick up plenty as you will want to share,. They ship for holidays in tins....perfect gift for someone across the country that cant drive there.

Very busy place, prices are a but high - but the apple cider was great. We purchased an apple pie ($14.00), some apple cider, apple fritters and apple slushies. The slushies are mainly ice (dont waste your time), but the pie and cider was amazing. Be prepared to wait in line, this place is pretty popular.

Website says they are open today till 5:30... After driving 40min to get here there is a piece of plywood on the door that says closed till August 1st. They need to put this on their website. Im disappointed with barber orchard.

Went so often last year that when I missed a day the ladies wanted to check on my health. Do NOT miss this place under any circumstances!! Best apple fritters on Earth! Nicest people, too.

Home cooking in an orchard setting. Offering more apple related treats with meals would have been appealing. The out buildings with farm related collections were a fun activity.

Best Cider and apple turnovers. 1/2 gallons of cider in glass. Proprietors are kind and employees engaging and helpful. Tip - Try the cherry apple butter.
