First this thrift store is very expensive, considering that they sell used things. A lot of their stuff here is priced almost at the same price as in a regular store like Wal-Mart, and the bad thing is that their management seem not to be aware of how the public feels about their high prices for used stuff. I once bought a childrens bicycle here and later saw the same bicycle at Wal-Mart for only two dollars more than what I paid for it here. The worse prices are with their furniture. You will find shaky book shelves or tables here for not less than $70.00. Secondly, they sell a lot of broken and old furniture, and you might think that because the furniture is broken, the price will be low, but thats is never the case here. Broken furniture here is always still expensive, making the place ethically repulsive. Their clothing used to be at a fair price, but they have now become very expensive for their used condition. Books are cheap, but who buys books these days? Electronics are old and expensive too. I will advise people to first try out the Durham Rescue Mission on Glennwood(Highway 70) before coming here as a last resort.

The managers have a habit of changing prices at the register claiming the person who is bringing things to the floor does not know prices and the price list on the floor is not what they use. This happens over and over again and it is very irritating especially after you take your time and look through all the mess they have to find something you like thinking it is one price and then they change. Manager words was "Prices of un-tagged merchandise is at the discretion of the cashier". Why then do they have the price sheets on the floor? Pull them off and replace with "ask cashier". I have experienced and seen this way too many times and today it is time to take my business somewhere else. PTA / Goodwill thrift storeswhere I come. Done with DRM. Your Managers need to be trained on business etiquette.

Farily decent. Okay selection of clothing - lots of it to be sure, but I see an awful lot of items that are damaged and should be in some sort of $1 bin instead of on the racks. The shoe selection is a bit sad - lots of shoes, but again lots of them are in incredibly bad shape. Like most thrift stores in this area, they charge way, way too much for the furniture. If youre looking for furniture, just go to Craigslist. Overall this store is worth checking out, but come with a long list of needs and be prepared to be disappointed on at least some of them. The staff is very nice. The location itself is in dire need of some basic maintenance. Its a thrift store and it doesnt have to be fancy, but a fresh coat of paint could work wonders. The bathrooms are scary. Thats about it.

Every time Ive been to the Durham Rescue Mission Thrift Store, Ive had a good experience. Im a bit of a thrift store junkie and frequent the Goodwills and other thrift stores from Durham to Greensboro. This store is by far one of the best, both in pricing and selection. They seem to have a pretty good turnover in stock. I mainly shop for books and I usually leave with a couple of boxes full. They always seem to have good specials running. The clerks have also been consistently pleasant to me. I like the fact that when I shop here, I know that my money is going to a very good cause.

Sometimes overprices items other times you can get a good deal. 10% off coupon for making a donation (use receipt). Get on the email list for better monthly coupons. Often see damaged items so check things out carefully. Furniture selection is too small. Clothes and furniture may have bed bugs and lead to a costly infestation so be careful to put clothes in dry heat and steam used furniture. If you sat on a used couch consider your clothes contaminated by bed bugs. Books are leftovers that they cant sell on Amazon. Often has annoying Christian music.

The Durham Rescue Mission Flea Market is a great place to come to look for whatever youve been looking for. Clothes, furniture, Bill Cosby DVDs, whatever youre looking for, Ive come to expect that the Rescue Mission Flea Market will have some in stock. Its also a great place to donate stuff. If you have too many Sammy Davis Jr albums, or you just want to help a worthy cause, this is the place to come.

Huge selection of clothing. Furniture seems overpriced for the quality. Books are BOGO free every day. If you visit frequently enough, you may just find a steal in the rows of shelves of household goods, but be prepared to sift through a great deal of junk as well. Most prices for non-furniture goods are reasonable, but pricing seems incredibly variable depending on the item.

While I really like this store, the locations have issues of overvaluing items. One issue is blanket valuing video games at $3.49. Some games, this is a great deal. The majority of the time, its not. Another example is furniture. A lot of sofas, chairs, etceteta are close to full retail.

This is a purpose-filled place ran by people on a "mission" to help others, and it shows both in the way that they treat shoppers and each other. Its great to know that every dime spent at this place goes towards responsible help for those who really need it.

Awesome place! Tons of books and electronics! They do a daily $0.50 rack where I have found quite a few nice things! They have $0.25 bins in the back that are fun to pick through; minus the panties... ;) employees have always been super nice!

This was my first visit. It was very well-organized and large. Clothes were even sorted by size. Lots of dishes, glassware, clothing, linens, books and music. Also have furniture, fitness equipment, baskets, etc. Its also a roomy space.

Great place for treasures hunters. It has a nice collection of toys and house-wear. The only bad experience I had was with cds, theyre not tested and you wont be able to check it in store. On the plus side they have a rewards card.

I always find good things at this Rescue Mission a lot better quality items here. Sometimes the prices are off but usually they will work with you. The is the best of the three locations for clothing and appliances

Insane amount of books, clothes and knick knacks. Their movie selection is hit and miss but besides that, this is the perfect definition of a thrift store, highly suggest DRM

Great amount of turnover and amazing finds always around the corner. I have found mens designer clothing here in addition to mens scrubs. Prices also very reasonable.

I think their location on Hwy. 70 near RDU is better. But this place is still a cool thrift store. Staff are very nice. Bathrooms are always super clean.
