Whatever you do, do not take delivery of a bike on a weekend at this location. Very disorganized. Ordered a bike, went to pick it up a week later. I told the staff I wanted to accessorize the bike, things like a bike rack, helmet, lock, water bottle holder, bell, etc. Had to see a different sales person for almost every item purchased. After almost 2 hours at the store, we told the young guy who delivered our bike that we wanted to test it outside to make sure the seat was properly adjusted. He told me he had to adjust the seat inside! I told him that until I ride it I didnt know the right seat height. After a surreal conversation he took it outside. Once outside we realized the new bike was severely scratched in several places. The guy looked clueless. We asked to speak to the manager. We explained the situation, then the manager disappeared. We did not know where our paperwork was, where the clueless guy was, or where the bike was. It wasnt until we went to the register and demanded a refund that we saw the manager again. He informed us that the scratches were fixed. They were merely filled in with some kind of pencil. We insisted on a refund, to which the manager replied, O.K, "we dont need your money that way"! Can you imagine, after wasting about 4 hrs at the store and about to spend a total of $900, being dismissed by a person who has no business being a manager. All he had to do was be a little empathetic and offer us another bike. Instead he lost our business and the business of our family and friends. Never had a problem there before, but the disrespect by the person supposedly in charge was a severe turn-off.. . .

On 08-08-15 I purchased a trek 7.4 from Brands cycle and fitness. I rode it home and was great but the handle bar needed adjusting. Next day i called them and was told come on by. When I arrived I spoke to a mechanic and told him I needed a 110 MM stem. I said ok lets do it he said I would give you a fifteen percent discount on the new stem but i keep the old one. I found thus strange and let him proceed with the work. It was quick and fit beautifully. We went ti the cashier the to pay he told the young lady 15% she put 50% and he said no 15%. I paid and asked fot my original Bontrager stem hesaid they keep it. I could not believe what I was hearing. This guy is trying to steal from me. I asked him what do you mean you keep it? He said for defects. I left and would deal with it another day. On the 10th I called to speak to a manager could not get one. On the 11th i reached a manager Scott who was very helpful and apologetic. He told me that was not the policy and he found the individual I was dealing with was the head mechanic. Scott told me it was a misunderstandings at leat that is what the mevhanic passed it off as. I explained how it was not and it was blatant robbery. Mailed me the stem but this mechanic is off the hook for theft. Frustrating going through this.

I own and ride 2 bikes purchased at Brands, a road bike purchased last year and another road bike purchased by my father in 1976. When purchasing my new road bike the salesman spent over an hour working with me to find the best bike for my needs and another hour fitting the bike to me when I picked it up. Their price was well below the that of other local cycling stores for the same model. The sales staff are helpful and knowledgable, and more importantly willing to share that knowledge. When I undertook the project to restore my fathers road bike, another salesman spent time to answer my questions on cleaning and basic mechanics. When I came into the store with the front wheel loose and I -without cone wrenches- couldnt tighten it, Brands mechanics did it for me, on the spot. After getting in an accident on my new bike a little over a month ago Brands mechanics put it back together. They did a great job, for a great price and it rides like new. I love Brands staff and service, my only complaint? Im a bit of an early bird and I wish they opened earlier on the weekends.

I live in NJ and recently purchased 2 lights (Niterider 700 and 350) over the phone with Denise at Brands within a weeks time. Ordered both in the afternoons and have them in my hands the NEXT DAY (this is with their standard free shipping over $50)! The 700 worked great, but the 350 shut itself off sporadically (sometimes after few minutes despite being fully charged). Spoke to Denise and she quickly told me that she will ship a new one out to me with a free return label, but currently out of 350s, except for one thats been on the sales floor that does not appear to be in mint condition. It may take a week before a new shipment arrives. She never tried to upsell me, but I actually asked about the availability of other models and decided Ill just wait. The next day she called me and offered to ship me an upgraded model with NO EXTRA CHARGE and NEXT BUSINESS DAY SHIPPING! Through my research, they were able to match the best price on one and has the best price on the other. I just wish they were closer to me. Highly recommend working with Denise and Brands!

A long review but definitely worth it. Long story short Ive a bulging disc in my back a couple actually. Among other things. Well after 3 years my doctor said if I can get on a bike then Im good to go. Ive gained weight and really miss riding. I went to anther bike store and had a horrible experience and wouldnt let me try to get on a bike. Brands which I called before hand was totally different. The woman said it wasnt an issue and I could try any or all the bikes I wanted! When I got there Bill took me under his wings. He was so helpful and even thou no bike this year he was so encouraging for me to try next year. Im doing a lot of walking until then and get my legs stronger and Ill be back next year.

Bought a bike rack (Thule 963pro) from Amazon, that was sold by Brand Cycle and Fitness. I ran into some issues installing the rack, due to my inadequacy combined with some unclear instructions. I had to call the company and talk to someone named Andy 4-5 times to solve the problem, and he was just super patient with me until we ended up successfully resolving the issue. This was over 3 months after I purchased the rack (I had to go abroad soon after the purchase) and I feel like they were not obligated to help me at all, but Andy stuck until the end, and even gave me some useful tips for the future after the issue was resolved. Very helpful place, great experience.

I bought my son a bmx bicycle at Brands last year and have the repair shop run by idiots. A month after purchasing the bicycle the tire caught a flat. The flat was fixed and got flat again. Each and every time the bicycle breaks there is another excuse by the repair shop. Most recently the chain broke( Ive been riding bicycles for years and the chain rusts before it breaks) Well, a week after fixing the chain it broke again. Now, I am told by the bicyclist repair idiot that they put on a basic chain. Excuse me? When do you put a basic chain on a BMX Bike. Does one put Ford parts on a Mercedes? I dont think so. Buyer beware!
