I basically came in off the street on a weekend morning, and both people working in the shop greeted me from across the store. One of the employees was helping another set of customers but the second staff member came right over to help. I needed my gearing adjusted as it had been acting up on my new road bike. He asked when I needed it done, and I mentioned whenever was fine and that I was in no hurry, but he took my bike to the back and started working on it straight away. 10 mins later (which gave me a perfect chance to stroll around the store and see all the expensive bikes that were WAY out of my price range) he had it flying through the gears like a hot knife through butter. Not only that but he also took the time to show me what he did, and how to adjust it in the future if something ever happens. That little extra effort on his part really stood out to me; it really made me feel like they were interested in me as a person, and not just my money as a customer. Even as a customer though, I was charged what I felt was a very fair price for the short amount of labor he performed. While not a large store in size, and not the broadest range of pricing for products that I was hoping for (Im just an amateur bike rider, so a lot of the stuff was way above what I wanted to spend), the staff was friendly and extremely helpful, and I know that if I become more vested in biking as a sport/hobby, Ill be coming back for all my biking related needs!

Bottom line, Elite Cycling goes above and beyond any customer service Ive ever experienced. I managed to carelessly damage my high-end bike within hours of picking it up from Elite Cycling (shortly after they had done an exhaustive tune-up for me). Worse, I did so only 36 hours prior to departing for a major triathlon in Texas; simply, I had no option other than to have the bike fixed immediately. I called Jeff who invited me back, despite being already overwhelmed with service requests due to another local race which was about to occur locally the upcoming weekend. When I awoke the following morning, I had an e-mail in my inbox, delivered at 1:51am the night prior, reporting that he took several hours to fix it, and stating that "I’ll take another look in the morning as I’m a bit tired and may have overlooked something. I’ve got another crazy busy day tomorrow, so I wanted to finish the bulk of it tonight." Elite Cycling is a premier shop...not just because they sell the best bikes available but because the service is unsurpassed. When you buy a bike here, you get more than a bike. You get that confidence knowing that if/when something happens, even when its your own fault (you know, like when you go to pull into your garage forgetting that your bike is on the rooftop carrier, as a "random" example), theyve got your back. Thanks Jeff and everyone at Elite! Youve earned a lifelong customer.

I was in KC for vacation. I walked into their shop excited to see the bikes that they sold. They were very helpful didnt try to sell me a bike, even though I tried riding several bikes. They discussed several options at my request and were very helpful. At that time, the 2014 Cervelo S2 came as a kit with the Shimano 105 group set. I hated the 105 but loved the bike. They completely replaced the group set to ultegra 6800 with a new wheel set for the 11speed. They only charged me the difference in price whereas most of the stores I talked to would charge me for both group sets (because the bike came as a kit). Since I was out of state, the didnt charge me the sales tax. Of course, being out to state, I didnt get to utilize the "free" one year tuneup service. That is not their fault and I figured at this price, if I couldnt maintain (mostly) my own bike, then I dont deserve it. They assembled it there in KC, expertly packed it up and shipped it to where I live. I would definitely buy from them again.

From the first time I walked into Elite I have been treated like their very best customer. I was a complete novice in the cycling world when I discovered them a year ago and Jeff and his staff have always given me their very best... from information/education on bikes - to accessories and other equipment. No matter if you are an elite athlete or a beginner... they will provide you with excellent customer service and personalized attention. At area events they provide incredible race support that you can count on. Stop by their shop and get ready to be impressed. There isn’t another bike shop around that can give you what you’ll find at Elite. Knowledgeable staff, excellent service, variety of bikes/gear, good prices... they go the extra mile to get to know their customers and help them find the perfect bike.

Ordered a bike from Elite. They were good with the order but it goes down hill from there. When I picked the bike up they didnt really fit me well at all. The gears werent shifting correct and I had to take it back. They told me that it was good I brought it in because it was doing something that could have really messed it up. Each time Ive taken it in they acted put out that Im bringing it in. The last time I brought it in to be checked before a half tri. They charged me $65.00 It wasnt shifting correct and I had to take it to my local bike shop the day before the race. They charged me $30 and told me they had to adjust both front and back derailer. So glad I paid Elite $65 to check my bike for the race. They definitely only cater to a few favorites and dont want new clients. Sent from my iPhone

Elite Cycling is the best shop in the Kansas City area. Over the past year or so, whenever I ride my triathlon bike for a time or distance equivalent to 2.5 hours or 56 miles, Ive experienced knee discomfort on my right knee. This has, unfortunately, prevented me from being able to train for upwards of 2 weeks. After talking with Jeff and reviewing my Retul bike fit position, Jeff suggested putting a shim in my shoe since my bike position hadnt changed. Recently, I went for a ride just over 2.5 hours and have had no knee issues since the ride. Im very grateful that Jeff was able to help me out and help keep me injury free so I can train and race. I highly recommend Elite Cycling as their product the best in town and most importantly their customer service is second to none.

Ive been competing in triathlons in the KC area for 15 years and Jeff fit me on my first tri bike when he worked for another local shop. Jeff has always been a great resource and always patient listening to all of the triathlete war stories over the years. I had a cracked frame and needed to replace my TT bike after having just signed up for my first Ironman. Jeff took the time to help me weigh my options and figure out which bike would be the best value for my money. He went the extra mile answering all of my questions and even made some recommendations that I hadnt considered. I cant recommend Jeff and his team enough. As a small business owner myself, Im proud to support Jeff as a local business owner!
