Watch yourself in the butcher shop. These guys are scamming. I asked for a medium to large top sirloin which was $7.99 lb.The guy behind the counter took the top sirloin out of the display and took it over to a scale away from where I was standing. I walked over. A woman butcher was weighing out a filet mignon on the scale. She took it off, and my butcher put my top sirloin on the scale. It was set at $12.99 lb. He weighed it and started to print a ticket for the cashier. I said "No, weigh it at $7.99." He said he was weighing it at "my price." I said he wasnt. The butcher got very irritated, threw another piece of meat on the scale and said "Here, you want another piece." I said I just wanted the meat weighed at the correct price, $7.99lb. Finally, with considerable irritation, he changed the price to $7.99. A mistake? No. This is the second time for me that this butcher shop has wrapped up meat weighed as though it was a more expensive cut. And, of course, there was the other female butcher also using the scale, watching him try to overcharge me, and saying nothing. There was no apology. No admission that he was wrong. And remember, you cant see whether their fingers are on the scale when they weigh meat. This is all too bad. I used to enjoy shopping at Handy Market, thinking that I was giving the local guys some business. I would avoid the place, except for the vegetables.

If you are looking for some easy and delicious BBQ tri-tip, baby-back ribs, chicken or sausages you should swing by the Handy Market in Burbank (Magnolia & Buena Vista) Every Saturday starting about 10am they setup their bbq pits outside and sell freshly made assortment of meats from rare to well done. The market has been a local business for decades and still has a wonderful deli counter. Their friendly butchers will slice anything you like including sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Perfect for those days that you want a bbq but not in the mood to slave over the grill. Drive by, pick it up and enjoy with family and friends at home.

My experience is always great. We love getting our meat there. Theyll cut to order like splitting chicken breasts (usually you can get them on sale for $2.99 a pound) and cutting up beef for Stroganoff. You cant beat their the prices on the fruits and veggies - locally grown. I always pick up a bag of fresh basil for 99 cents. Great little local market. Its hard to believe someone got sick on their BBQ, they must have had the flu or something, since the line is down the street every Saturday all day long and has been for so many years I cant count and no one has ever complained - the customers speak for themselves.

Best butcher, produce and deli in Burbank by far. Great hometown vibe, small staff and great food. You cant beat their produce prices. Love the butchers here, they are always very friendly and they do an awesome job. During the week they do take home dinners for $6.99, they are usually home style cooked dishes. They do bbqs on the weekend out front, best tri-tip Ive ever had. For booze they have a lot of higher end micro brews and wines that you wouldnt find in your larger grocery stores. The store is small, but its a fantastic independent market.

First time visiting. Stopped on a Saturday for some of the BBQ I keep hearing great things about. I checked out the inside first and found anything that I could imagine from a market all the most popular brands and great deals as well. The BBQ outside is delicious! I have to come back again for more. The staff was very helpful to direct me to finding what I needed and very friendly as well. One of the hidden jems of the area I need to come more often

Love it if only for their Saturday afternoon barbecues where you can get delicious whole tri-tips and ribs and chicken. The beef ribs and tri tips are the best, the tri tip sandwich is a little oversauced, better to buy your own tri tip and take it home and slice it and add your own sauce. But man is it good. And I love driving by it when the smoke is in the air and smells amazing.

Okay..Saturday morning bbq. The line is long, but theres something fun about getting a rack of ribs fresh off the bbq, extra sauce squirted on and wrapped in paper and then going home and eating it. They know how to do it. Ive yet to try the tritip sandwich, because you have to get that inside, and I think its available all week. I am going to try it next though.

The owner Alan is a slob, fat, cheap, pervert who abuses his employees. I feel bad for them, especially since they are all nice. Its obvious that some of the people below are friends, because their comments sound as if they were ads. Im not trying to come out to be mean, but its true. I got sick from eating their bbq ribs, it tasted like bleach.

This little store is amazing. Its not the cheapest and its not the biggest. Its not even the best around, but it has character and heart. Its Saturday bbq is amazing and it pulls you in with its delicious smells. Come in and get your fresh fruits and vegetables. I recommend the Nikita apples as they are the best I have ever had.

Handy Market has a great selection of items for a small market. Their prices are lower than Vons too. And the people who work there are friendly and helpful. Its our "go to" store for nice cuts of meat, great produce, and hard-to-find items. Their fresh grilled barbecue meats on Saturday are highly recommended! :-)

I love Handy Market their meats are fresh and cut to order. Their sandwhichs are amazing. Prices are competitive but the portions and quality are high. Sometimes they even BBQ in the parking lot and its worth the stop.

My favorite place for quality meats and great prices on avocados! Also, most produce will have good prices. Their BBQ on Caturdays is amazing!!! Support your local market! Their beer selection is tops in the area!

Best small market in Burbank. Hands down. The deli sandwiches put all other places to shame. And the Saturday barbecue is insanely good, its addictive. Thus the lines. And the staff are awesome as well.

If you have the time (and patience) go to the 3rd aisle, stand in line, and get yourself one of their famous and amazingly good freshly made deli-style sandwiches... Its a treat!

A little crowded but has good selection of fun goods. I found some fun stuff like Kale-Pineapple-Pear Popsicles but some typical stuff like Barefoot Moscato.

This place is awesome. They have fresh deli and meats in the back, as well as stocked with good foods and condiments. I like the pastrami panini sandwich.
