This place is pretty nice for hookahs and the large selection of glassware. Im not a glass-pipe kind of guy, so I dont know about the quality of their stuff, but I did pick up a nice one-hose hookah (the Bambino model) which was fairly priced and came with a free puck of shisha. The guy on my first visit seemed very professional and had very good advice, and the store sound system was playing very nice rap music. The second time i went in to buy more shisha and the store was filled with very angry screaming thrash punk metal music but the employees still seemed knowledgable if a bit more spaced out. It was also late, though. Dont bother buying your every day cigarettes here, because theyre more expensive than the little corner markets. Didnt see much in terms of old man pipe tobac but thats not what I was looking for. Their shisha selection seems damn broad. Humidor seemed large, might be worth a look if youre a cigar kind of guy or girl. This place strikes me as more professional and real than Pipefitters and much more than Amsterdam. No stupid halloween costumes at this place. Speaking of Amsterdam, Knuckeheads is not the place to find "herbal incense" blends like K2 or Spice. Theirs was very expensive and I didnt actually see a brand name anywhere. Maybe they have it someplace I didnt look. Their regular incense (sticks and cones) collection was large, though. Nice place in general, slightly pricey on some things, but their shisha was 3 bucks for a 1-oz package, which Im very happy with.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING SHOPPING HERE PLEASE READ THIS I recently had the worst customer service experience in my life, I purchased of an item that appeared to be in working condition; however after bringing it home I noticed marking (sub-dermal breaks) in the glass, which Ive come to learn means the product will be breaking soon. Before I had the chance to bring it in, while putting the product into a padded case it broke exactly on the line. Total time: 12 hours. Now this was custom made by their glass blower, so I brought it back expecting them to understand that sometimes custom stuff isnt made the best so rectification is necessary, but thats not what I got. Instead I was dismissed, refused any semblance of help from employees, and told to get the f*** out of the store, leading me to file a dispute claim with my credit card. Later I returned to give them another chance to fix the product allowing me to redact the claim, however I was immediately met with rudeness, followed by attacks on my character and moral being for simply trying to get this worked out. This culminated in an employee hollering and cursing me out to the point where I no longer feel safe in this store. I urge you, before shopping here read this review, dont end up in the situation Im in. Dont be afraid to pay a little extra for good customer service.

By far and away some of the worst customer service that I have ever received. If it werent for Knuckleheads selection, I would have to give them below 1 star. Knuckleheads by far has the best selection of goods in Madison, but if I have to go to Pipefitters for my second choice in tobacco for 25 cents more, I will gladly spend that extra 25 cents for quality service, not to mention Pipefitters rolling papers being substantially cheaper. Is the Knuckleheads staff highly knowledgeable in their products? Yes, but that doesnt do anyone any good, when you have to pull teeth to get someone to help you, and then they are some of the most pretentious people Ive ever bought anything from. I come in to ask questions about the products because I want some perspective from an actual person, not to have staff berate me for not knowing the intricate details of every product. I have walked into the store numerous times to see staff smoking and playing on their phones, or having personal conversations amongst the staff, ignoring customers that want/need help. I have personally waited and seen others wait for 10+ minutes while staff finishes their non-work entertainment to offer assistance. When you finally get the attention of a staff member, they often seem upset that they have to help you.

Ive been going to knuckleheads since the mid 90s. Its been a downtown fixture for a long long time and rightfully so. Ive always been treated well there and have purchased a plethora of quality products over the years. But the main vape dude, Therin, has really ramped up the knowledge of products and customer service at Knuckleheads. This dude has many times gone above and beyond my expectations of an associate/tech at an establishment such as this. The guy really seems to enjoy what he does and hes damn good at it. Any time I need advice on a build or need something fixed he helps me out right then and there and usually gives me tips on how to do things better. Hes even hand delivered my mod to my work if I wasnt able to make it in before they closed for the evening. After going to all the vape shops in town when they all opened up (seemingly at about the same time), I learned the place to go was right under my nose the whole time. Therins the man.

Ive been shopping at knuckleheads for my tobacco needs for about a year or so now. I typically smoke cigars and found their selection to be decent and their prices fair. Ill admit that the atmosphere was a little "stoner" for me the first time I stopped by, but the staff was very helpful. Recently I decided to give pipe smoking a try so I made the trek to Knuckleheads for some advice. I received sound advice and some free pipe tobacco to try. The music selection the last several visits has been more blue grass / Appalachian folk orientated. The volume was a bit loud, but not as loud as some stores in the malls. In short, if youre willing to cast aside the state street atmosphere, Knuckleheads is a good place to go for your tobacco needs.

Bought a water pipe at this place. I got home and realized the guy had forgotten to include the slide. I called immediately and told the employee who said, "No I remember wrapping up the slide and putting it in there." There was no slide in the bag. He may have wrapped it up but it was not in the bag. He refused to believe me and basically told me I was SOL. He said if I came back in he could give me a discount for a new slide. I really had no choice. Came back in, he charged me a "discounted" 45$ for a new slide and said, "Try not to lose this one." Funny guy. Wont ever be coming back here and will tell everyone to avoid this shady place.

Best customer service I have had in years! Im new to vaping, Theran helped me out more then I had ever imagined anyone would. I knew very little about it all, but just enough to know some names of products because I purchased a few things for my wife as gifts. He lead me in the right direction, taught me about the options out there and even took the time to teach me how to hand wrap coils! He got everything set up for me as perfect as anything in life could get. Very pleasant fellow, and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, wont go anywhere else from now on!
