For a small market in down town Madison, Cap Centre does a great job of serving its customers in the neighborhood. This is not the place to come if you are shopping for a large family but for its size, they have an amazing variety of things to choose from. As another reviewer commented, shop their sales and its cheaper than Woodmans. They also make manufacturers coupons available to customers taped to the shelves near the products! Ive never seen another store do this. Everyone who works there is friendly. polite and helpful. They do free deliveries and the best part for me as a disabled senior citizen is that living in the building next door they will do a carry-out right to my apartment door if I have bought more than I can safely carry. Great service!

Prices are about what I would expect. They run great sales, though. Aisles are a little crowded during the day, but thats to no fault of the business itself. Very friendly staff. SPECIFICS: Theres a decent amount of gluten free items for those with celiac, as well as dairy alternatives for lactose intolerant people. Lots of local fruits and veggies available. Meat department is a bit lacking/overpriced. Soft drinks suffer the same issue. They offer a discount if you reuse their paper bags, as well as free delivery to your home (you can order online).

I have shopped at this grocery store for a few months now, it is very convenient but the service is mediocre at best. Today I bought a 6 pack of beer from the store and when I opened it up there was a bottle completely shattered inside. The manager informed me that "unfortunately our store policy is not to allow returns on beer" and made no effort to compensate me in any way, despite the fact I came back 10 minutes after my initial purchase. Expected them to let me return it and grab a full 6 pack no questions asked

This is a great convenient place to pick up day to day grocery. It is located at the center of the city making it easily accessible. They also accept Mochoo (if you dont know what is that, you should try it, it is a great app). You cant compare this to a Hy-Vee or a Walmart, but the store size is modest with all the necessary stuff. Parking is bit on a smaller size, but I have never faced issues finding a spot. It is also close to the University area, dorms and couple of bus stops

The staff here are great. Ive gone multiple times and seen them help people with disabilities walk through the store and shop with them. That is really great to see! The Fetch Rewards app is a bonus on top of good prices to begin with. If you dont know how to use the app, ask the staff. Its really easy and fun. Open 24 hours, small market with all your necessities, helpful friendly staff and good prices. Easy to walk to or there is a small parking lot.

Very good selection, much better than other downtown grocery stores like Fresh, and the prices are almost always cheaper as well. There are a few things that are priced considerably higher than the competition though, like their almond butter which is easily twice what Fresh charges. Regardless though, its a phenomenal grocery store and its central location means its one of the best options for students living on or near state street.

Similar to the other return story, I bought a 6 pack of rolls that molded in 2 days. When I brought the rolls back in the store, they told me I couldnt return/exchange without a receipt. I didnt want to return or exchange them, I was just mad they got mold so quickly! The manager was very insistent I couldnt do anything about it without a receipt, even though the sell by date and Capitol Centre label were on the package.

Cap Centre is the best small grocery in the city. Produce dept is great. Always stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. The meat dept has a USDA Prime butcher. If you want special cuts just ask. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Prices are affordable and there is always a free item with $20 order. Oh yeah THEY DELIVER

Ive found this place to be wonderful. Relative to downtown madison its not too super expensive (except for the candy/chocolate), has a very nice atmosphere and has a solid fruit/vegetable section. Also offers a 10cent discount if you use a reusable bag, which is a nice plus. I would definitely recommend this store

Great staff, central location for a food market that accepts EBT / Foodshare. Helps the community, and often donates gift cards to the subsidized housing complex residents next door. Havent changed their aisles in over 3 years, so you can remember locations of certain items easily.

This place is good for what it is, a down-town Market. With a limited but well thought out selection. They dont have everything, like a butchers counter, or a bakery, but they do have everything else you could use for your home otherwise.

Pretty good selection, but most stuff is expensive here--which is what Id expect. However, when stuff is on sale, its cheaper than woodmans. Definitely keep an eye out for sales here. Produce is pretty decent here, too. just expensive.

Only downside is slightly higher prices due to size and location. They always have everything I am looking for, efficient cashiers, and available parking if not within walking distance. My go-to grocery store downtown. Accepts Moocho!

Has everything. Has some bulk options, and organic goods, nice little bakery inside, aisles are bit small, but its cool... Just wish I had an aisle to go through by myself once in awhile. Lol

Wonderful little grocery store. Amazing selection, considering its so little! It wont replace a trip to Woodmans for the essentials, but it is wonderful for picking up the things you forgot!

Cap Centre is such a great grocery store. Small but stocked with most of my favorite things. Nice neighborhood atmosphere, feels cheaper than other downtown grocery stores like Fresh Market.

Cashiers are quick and efficient. The store is small, with friendly staff. A bit overpriced, but convenient downtown location. Lottery tickets and bus passes can be purchased here.

More expensive with a lesser selection than alternate supermarkets like Woodmans, but closer to isthmus residents and still with a range of brand to generic for most groceries.

This store is quite small, so it is really easy to run in and pick up one or two things. Prices are very fair, and the staff is very friendly. Try it! Youll like it!

Clean, convenient grocery store in the heart of downtown. Open 24 hours a day, and very reasonable prices considering their location. Staff are always professional

Decent place to do groceries. The selection isnt great, though the food that they do have is pretty fresh. Its nice and close for the folks that live downtown.

Too small and for it to be a grocery store for college folks, its mighty expensive. Last resort shopping for me. Cool delivery service though.

Place is crowded and most worker are not well-educated, compared to other places in downtown. Also this is America so stop using "centre".
