We dont go here often or to any other Walmart for that matter, but this one in particular bugs the crap out of me. You would figure with the billions of dollars the Walmart brothers make, they would cater a little more to the customer by having lots more cashiers. They have about 35 booths, why not more cashiers? We have noticed other Walmarts are better in this department, but the Spanaway Walmart really blows. They have a terrible vegetable department compared to Safeway, Albertsons and Fred Meyer. Their meat is also low grade. Even the liqueur is usually cheaper at Safeway. Safeway, Albertsons and Fred Meyer are not that much more expensive but the quality puts Walmarts produce department to sham. We go to Walmart less and less often, trading slightly higher prices for considerably better quality that cant be found at Walmart. Even their brand name electronics are older models or models that look exactly like the more expensive counterparts found at other stores at higher prices, but following that model number will lead you to a lesser quality model, or a model with fewer whistles or inferior or out dated parts. Their clothes department is "OK", shoe department is garbage, the tool department sells tools that no one else carries. The whole store sucks, from the slow cashier to customer service to that irritating Walmart greeter thats as phony as Walmart and its associates. By the way, I paid $2.32 per gallon for gas the other day, 13 gallons, my reward for shopping at Safeway. Try a different store, you might like it. Fresher produce, better tasting meat, more variety, friendlier and way more knowledgeable people, the cashiers are fast and efficient, a calm experience you cant get at Walmart. And children act so much better and so much more calm and better behaved in a real grocery store.

Black Friday sale items, specifically the advertised 40" Emerson LCD TVs, were sold in an unorganized, unfair, and unethical manner. I and dozens of others got jerked around and will most likely never go back to Walmart again. There was more than one line of several hundred people who waited hours for a very limited number if the TVs. Despite management instructions for associates to allow one unit per person, many were allowed two, three, and even four, further lessening the chances of the rest to acquire a single unit... Some people had "tickets", allowing them to acquire the TVs. When and where those tickets were distributed was unknown to the majority of us standing in line for hours. Then there was the haphazard manner in which the sale items were strewn about the store. I waited for forty five minutes in the Electronics area where one would expect LCD TVs to be.... but DUH! After wasting the majority of an hour there, I was told that the Emerson forty inch LCD TVs were in the garden or hardware department. WTF?!":/". The sales associates were incompetent, inept, and clueless. Is that any way to treat customers? Dozens of us left the Spanaway, WA, Walmart in disgust and swear that we will never be back. We will tell all of our friends, relatives, neighbors, work associates, and the JBLM military community to avoid Walmart stores, especially the Spanaway store. We will take our hard earned money to establishments that wont treat us like crap, and will give us the respect that we deserve. Wake up Walmart!!!

I recently bought something to be delivered to the store and went to pick it up. When I first got there, I pressed the button and waited. 10 minutes and a couple of associates passed, all of them avoiding looking in my direction. I pushed the button again, but 5 minutes and even MORE associates later, no one was there. I tried, one more time, to push it. 5 minutes later, no one. I pushed it several times, waited 10 more minutes, and then someone FINALLY showed up. That would be great, except she had no idea what to do, and apparently couldnt read the instructions written next to the computer because she couldnt figure out how to sign in. Someone else walked in and got stuck on a different part. Apparently the ONLY one that knows how to work a computer was on a lunch break. Finally, they called the manager, who started getting it done, but she scanned the wrong item. I couldnt see what was on the box until they started wheeling it out, and when I saw that it was the wrong one I politely told him and he had an attitude like it was my fault the manager scanned the wrong box. I couldnt see it. I told him as soon as I saw it that it wasnt my name. I guess expecting someone to do what theyre getting paid for is out of line. I thought I should also mention that some kids came in to have their balloons from the store filled. Out of everyone that was there, not ONE thought to help those kids, they all just walked away so they could go back to getting paid for doing their all-important nothing.

I try to avoid this Walmart at all costs. Walmart, in general, is definitely not my favorite place but this particular Walmart is the worst I have visited. I had to go pick up a prescription there and the staff in the pharmacy were so rude and didnt seem to understand anything about customer service -- not just with me, but with the other customers I observed them "helping". It took them about 5 minutes to even look up and notice I was there waiting at the counter, and at least another 5 for them to lazily make their way over to me. No one while I was there received any sort of greeting. While we were waiting for our rx, my daughter had to use the restroom...when we entered, it smelled so awful. Looking in one of the stalls, there was actual human excrement on the floor and all over the toilet. We left immediately and found an employee and told her. Not only did she not seem shocked or disturbed, she stayed where she was for a good amount of time before moving towards another employee and telling them the problem -- I can only assume that person went and took care of it, but who knows. Disgusting.

The only thing that saves this WalMart store from getting a one star review from me is the excellent customer service I have always received there. The checkers are OUTSTANDING, they are always friendly, helpful, patient and never fail to brighten my day. There is one checker in particular who works the night shift, he is a lovely young lady who is transitioning and he has the most wonderful, postive attitude. He is also very knowledgeable about all things WalMart, and if he doesnt know the answer to a question he WILL find it. The management at this store as well as at WalMart in general are CRAZY if they dont do whatever it takes to keep this employee around, she is a class act and smart as a whip. Otherwise, this particular store gives me the creeps. The lighing is weird and its echoey. If not for the wonderful employess, especially the checkers but also the employees out on the floor who are so great about helping me find things (they seriously know where EVERYTHING is, you cant stump them!) I would not shop at this store at all.
