I hate this boutique for several reasons. Before I explain why, let me give you a little background. My sister is getting married this summer in Seattle. I live in the DC area as do two other bridesmaids. Another bridesmaid is in Chile and the last is in Seattle. My sister found a dress she liked that we would all be able to order from wherever we decided. I decided to order mine through Something Blue. I was going to be in Seattle early April and I figured if I ordered my dress in December it would be there late March. I could pick it up, get it fitted if need, and then just leave it at my parents’ house. And then Something Blue happened… 1) They refused to order me my size. I got married two years ago and my wedding dress was a size 4. I am the exact same size I was two years ago. I told the sales-lady over the phone I am a 4. She refuses to believe me, asked for my measurements and then tells me she’s going to go ahead and order me a size 6. I tell her again that I am a size 4, I am not a size 6, that will be too big. She says ordering a size up is the smart thing to do and tells me again that she is ordering me a size 6. I just got my dress and tried it on. The thing hangs on me like an ugly brown sack. I’m glad this place clearly is looking out for any additional costs. 2) I had to force them to order my dress. I called in December to order the dress so it would be there in April when I was visiting my family. I called in February to check on the status to see if it was en route from wherever they have these things made. They tell me they haven’t ordered it yet. Pause. They charged me in December when I placed my initial order and they did not actually order the product they took my money for. They gave me some song and dance about needing to talk to my sister and the other bridesmaids. I cut her off and demanded to know what my sister or the other bridesmaids had to do with Something Blue taking my money and not ordering my product. Silence. I asked if she was going to place the order, and she grudgingly did her job. 3) Since the dress was not going to be there for me to get it fitted, as my planning ahead had hoped, I now need to get the dress to me out here in DC. I mention this as she is placing my order and she tells me I can just have it shipped. Notice the pronoun use. I pause and then say, “You will be paying to ship it to me since you didn’t place the order when I initially called but charged me for it anyway, right?” Pause. She then unhappily, while trying to sound cheerful, say, “Yes, we can do that.” 4) Once my dress is ordered, I find out that two other bridesmaids placed their order through Something Blue as well. She asks me she should go ahead and just order those now too. The other bridesmaids placed their orders in January and had been billed as well. It was now February. While I finally have my dress, two months later than I had originally planned and expected, no purchase should be this complicated and stressful. While I like small businesses and want them to do well in Puyallup, this is one that Puyallup would be better without just based on the lack of professionalism and business ethics displayed toward me by this establishment. I forget to mention that two of the bridesmaids were offered a 20% discount because when they went in my sister’s information – that they demanded I give them – was now in their system. I was not offered a 20% discount on my initial purchase (which was fairly amicable) or even after their glaring inability to do such a mindless job.

I took my sons fiance there on Saturday for a scheduled appointment and was totally ignored after the owner Debbie found out the price point was below $1,000.00. She pointed us to the sales rack and never came back. Other women were sitting around with clip boards with information on them but we were never approached again and left after looking around and waiting for more help. Obviously Debbie is in this for the money and nothing more! This was a horrible experience but was made better when we went to another shop on South HIll of Puyallup and purchased a dress from them and were treated kindly even without having an appointment. Get your priorities straight Debbie its not all about the money....

When I arrived here and saw how extravagant all the gowns were I was sure this shop was out of my budget. But the owner insisted I look around and try some dresses on. After finding my dream dress she worked with me to fit my budget and even tweaked tax so that it was affordable. She was so helpful and kind and really made my dream wedding dress into a reality. I highly recommend something blue for having the best service and selection.

This is by far the most friendly and helpful bridal salon I have been to. I have been to a couple in the Tacoma/Puyallup area. The owner is very down to earth, does not pressure you, and makes you feel as special as the moment is (finding your dress)! I cant say enough positive things about Something Blue!! I found my dress there and some of my accessories!

The woman who worked there was short and her tone was unnecessarily aggressive with friend and i. Wouldnt step away from hanging up two dresses. And then was of no help when answering a question pertaining to delivery
