Ive always liked this pawn shop. In fact, as the owner of several high quality guitars and amps, it has been the only place Ive pawned ANY of my valuables some I moved back to this side of the state. This was mainly due to awesome staff, as well as Creighton (the owner). In fact, Ive never had any problems with any of them except one girl who upon bringing a guitar in to be pawned that had been in several times before insisted on really scrutinizing the neck very closely. When I asked her what she was doing, I was told that, "Oh, the neck might have cracked since the last time it was in!" As a customer that had pawned several pieces of my gear, and NEVER, NOT ONCE, lost or left an item in pawn to end up being put on the floor by them. One of the main reasons was I ask for less than the maximum I could get at ANY pawn shop, to make it easier for me to get out. Today, I went in with a guitar conservatively worth $700 with a brand new hardshell case, and needed to get $200 as Id had car troubles. The same girl who asked about the cracked neck "helped" me. I dont know her name bit shes thin with red hair and glasses. When I asked for $200, she told me no, I can give you $150, as thats what you got last time. I told her I needed $200 and she snidely proclaimed, "We already bumped you up from $100, youll have to wait until tomorrow for our guitar guy!" I said, "I know, thats because I typically get a manageable amount to make it easier for me to retrieve. I also told her I couldnt wait until then, I needed it today, again she said no. I asked her to look at my track record with the shop, that Ive had several loans and NEVER defaulted. But that didnt matter. In fact she wouldnt even look up what the guitar was worth, but instead just went by my past amounts for that guitar, no matter what it actually was worth. This may have been the right way to treat a first time customer, but not a loyal one like myself. I felt like my loyalty didnt matter one single bit, because it didnt. Im sorry to all the other great staff, but the two times Ive worked with that girl were two times too many, and enough to make me take my business elsewhere and never set foot in your store again. Im sure Im not the only one, but Im loyal for a reason and Id like some loyalty in return. Thank you to the other staff, you were great!!! Brad Hull

I have been here many times. Buying, selling and for loans. The experiences have been very mixed. Some of the staff are good people who are willing to negotiate and willing to form a relationship with their customers. Unfortunately, a few of them are inexperienced in customer relations and can be quite nasty to deal with. They have some great quality merchandise if youre careful but a lot of the stuff they buy is in bad shape and sold for almost retail prices. As with any pawn shop, know how much something is worth before you walk in or youll get taken for a ride. Do not leave the store with a purchase until you know it works properly. I appreciate Creighton more than other shops in the area because they dont have a blanket national corporate policy to follow and you can get good deals. My only sugestion for the owner is to increase the staff knowledge of products and even a "no" answer to can be given with human empathy. We are not all tweakers looking for a rock.

This was the first experience with establishment and i was excited about their selection. I bought a small electric chainsaw to cut up my long firewood on my porch. They showed me that it worked fine although they did not cut anything with it. I took it home tried to cut one small piece of wood and noticed the chain was very dull (I didnt have any sharpening tools.) I paid 35 for this used chainsaw, and found a brand new one for 49 at home depot. Now i understand that the shop has a no return policy, i had the saw for only one hour and took it back just asking to sell it back to them and was only asking 30. They offered me 10 bucks and knew it only needed to be sharpened. When i asked that they at least do me a better deal since i was just in there. They told me now they didnt even want to buy it! The worst customer experience i have ever experienced. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!

They apparently have a very strict "we dont give prices over the phone" policy (as the woman I spoke to said it about six times). Im trying to find a quote for gold bullion, just a generic idea of how they compare to others buying gold so I dont have to drive all over the place. I understand not being willing to make a quote for an item, but after asking multiple questions getting more and more generic finally asking "do you offer more than, less than, or about 75% of current market value?" she still responded "we dont give prices over the phone, youll need to come down." I have two kids in car seats, it isnt worth the hassle to drag them into a pawn shop with me (great family outing). I like to compare prices online, like many others. I also read reviews of businesses, like many others. Maybe you guys should get with the times. I give two stars because you answered the phone. Good job.

I have made a series of musical items and miscellaneous purchases with Creighton Loans and Music over the years. In my experience, I have seen all varieties of customers and workers there. I have seen crazy folks trying to make a quick buck, and the tradesman who is selling his tools so he can upgrade. I have seen shady employees, and outstanding ones who will treat you well. As of late, the staffing has improved dramatically, and with good oversight from the management, the shop has expanded its inventory over the years. It is much better than a typical pawnshop. if you are willing to bargain, you will find a reasonable deal on the items you find there. Selling items is something I generally dont do at shops, so I cannot speak to my experience in that regard.
