The coffee here is excellent! I was very surprised, especially considering it is in a town like Kent, where the snazzy, hip coffeeshops dont seem to exist. Coming yesterday from drinking at the best coffeeshop in the Puget Sound and then trying this coffee, I was thinking I would be disappointed, but I was surprised at how great it was. The Hawaiian coffee they serve is very sweet, rich, mellow and delicious. I kept going back for more and more. Also, the price of the coffee is very affordable. As others have said, the coffeeshop is non-profit and so your money is going to a good cause for the community. I will certainly be back to this coffeeshop.

Im from Kona, I just Went there and asked for a pour over and she said whats that? I then said how about a French press and she said they didnt have French coffee. I said well do you have Kona coffee and she said it was blended with many difference beans. (Thats not a good thing) I ordered a drip coffee and it tasted like Dirt. I was sadly disappointed. I drove 25 minutes to drink kona coffee. It was so bad I had to throw it away.

A gem in Kent! Great service, great coffee. Yummy banana bread! Service is excellent and friendly. Love the cooking channel playing on the mounted TV. So happy to finally find a wonderful coffee shop here in Kent. Has free WiFi so I can work all day with yummy food 10 feet away. Wish they were open later but Kent stores all seem to close early. Check this place out! Non profit too!

Amazing local Coffee Shop. What I love, the owner has a internship program for high school students. Amazing, wish I had this when I was growing up, more local shops offering our youth for an awesome future. One thing you cant get at school is good work ethics, and after visiting this shop, you definitely see them teach it to there employees.

Loved the Aloha Spirit that Kona Kai welcomes you with. The atmosphere is very layed back and it allows you to do your business or just enjoy a cup of coffee. I love the program they started helping youth stay off streets and giving them an opportunity to work there, giving them the experience they would need to get other jobs...

The coffee was wonderful, it took me straight to my hotel in Maui. The people were friendly and helpful. All this coupled with Hawaiian music playing took me straight to aloha time and I lingered for an hour just sipping my latte with nothing better to do. A glimpse of the islands in a concrete jungle.

Non profit coffee house where the mantra seems to be "customer first". Stopped in by chance and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the staff was. Breakfast sandwich was OK, but Tuna sandwich hit the spot later in the day for lunch. Will likely hit up this cafe on the way to Rainier again and again.

I like the sandwiches and the coffee here. There is usually a good soup on rotation here also and there are a couple of good salads also. The staff is friendly and the restaurant helps support a like skills program for homeless and at-risk youth.

Great coffee and light food options. Excellent space for events. Great, friendly owner and staff. This is a non-profit that trains youth for careers in the hospitality industry and it has a great reputation and track record.

I really enjoyed my visit. The staff was friendly and welcoming. My breakfast sandwich was delicious and hot. Bring your friends and support this local business. They give back to their communitys children with their profits!

I wanted coffee while in Kent and wanted something other than Starbucks. I ended up here and was glad I did. I got a vanilla latte and it was really good. Not to sweet. Ill totally be back when Im in Kent again!

The coffee was delicious both times that I went and while the staff were friendly to me, they were bickering, loudly and non-stop with each other for a good half hour. It made me not want to go back.

Mychal, Maryyum, Alex are like extended family, and the rest of the staff are very friendly. Kona Kai is a community treasure any town or city should be proud of.
