Its been a while since Ive been here and Im quite impressed with the expanded store front! I have always liked this place and it is way more organized and spacious now. I think the prices are fair, and if you have an issue they really help you out. I purchased a very rare and expensive game from them a few years ago for 90$. It played just fine in store, but a scratch in the top caused a game freeze later down the line. I came in to return it, we went over what it could be, and he exchanged it the only other copy they had. That was a big loss to soak up, such a rare and expensive game. They definitely did the right thing and i appriciate it. As far as negative reviews about pricing here.... their prices are fair and pretty low with a massive selection. You wont find online prices at a store front. I dont know why people think that. The overhead for an online retailer vs a storefront is way different. This isnt a yard sale. If wonderful people like this didnt exist, old video games would be lost in time and extremely expensive. Their service is a special kind that people seem to mistake for some sort of yard sale type thing.... its not a yard sale. This is a vintage game store. And yes, they dont have the best english. Which to me, shows that they truely are passionate about what they do. Its not a high profit business by any means, and Ive had no issue communicating with them. But ive seen people who arent very nice and get frustrated. If you have read this far into the review, these are good people. Treat them with respect, they have well earned it.

Gamelobster is a very unique game store, but that isnt anywhere near a bad thing. One thing I like to compare games shops with is price. Gamelobster has very competitive prices with not only other game stores but the internet. With the prices on the internet plus shipping you pretty much pay near the same price coming to the store. Many NES titles are under $10 for lesser known ones (I picked up Batman for 5.99) and the bigger titles usually never going above $20 unless boxed. Other systems have also very similar pricing. They also do not have a shortage of stock by any means. With plenty of games on the shelves and in the back, you have a big chance of finding what you want. The biggest "downer", if you could even call it that, is that the store is quite cluttered. If you have really bad OCD this might make you want to crawl out of your skin but, if you really dont care this is not really much of a negative in my opinion.Although, I do wish that theyd hire me for two weeks to fix up the place. Finally, the owners are courteous and Ive never had a problem with them, albeit theyre quiet but, I dont see this as a negative either. When you buy a game or accessory for a console they have (Pretty much everything except for Famicom and SFC.) they test it for you to make sure it works so you dont have to come back complaining later. I dont think youd be disappointed coming to Gamelobster if youre looking for some older games to pick up and enjoy with the great selection and fair prices. I totally recommend it.

I grew up on Pac. Highway, and often find myself still driving it to get to Federal Way to visit friends, etc. That being said, this little gem evaded me for a long time until a friend (thankfully) referred me. I wanted to facepalm after coming in for the first time and realizing Id been wasting my time trying to do some of this stuff online. Like someone else said, having to wait on Ebay for the minutes to dwindle, crossing my fingers that this game really is compatible on a toaster NES, is this 6-player Saturn multiplayer adapter really in that good of condition.. The employees are friendly enough. Do be prepared for a bit of a language barrier. The guy speaks with an (Im guessing) Eastern European accent thats a bit thick, but he seems to know his retro games. The wife has a touch of a South-Asian accent, but hers is very mild and I believe thats why she does most of the talking. Lot of NES (and even a few SMS!) titles that you wont be able to find at pawn shops. The pricing on pretty much all of his games is of course done by demand. The better games or more popular ones cost more, but everything is definitely reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this store if youre out looking for more hard-to-find pieces and dont want to deal with shopping online.

As a game-obsessed RPG-fanboy, I was ecstatic to learn of this haven for all things good in the world: Game Lobster. I was able to find games I had been searching for at other game stores for the last few years, and they were accurately priced. Being able to purchase coveted PS1 titles could very well have given me cardiac arrest were I not somewhat in-shape.... <.< However, my visit was not the most spectacular because while I was reminiscing about my childhood games, I also tried to converse with the owner. Obviously, there was a language barrier, but I also didnt see any enthusiasm at all. I firmly believe that customer service is the most important part of a shop, especially a GAME shop. The woman, though speaking with an accent, was able to speak English to my knowledge and answer my questions, but she did not have the edge that can convince me to spend $70.00 on a game I loved 12 years ago. I just think that with a little more enthusiasm for owning what many people will find as the Happiest Place on Earth (sorry Disneyland) the employees could find a lot more customers and a lot more purchases. All in All, if you can get past the lack of customer service and friendly environment, you will certainly find what you are looking for at Game Lobster.

Game Lobster is a fairly new store, with a huge selection of old video games. Everything from NES, Genesis, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Atari, and others. It was very hard to find out the store existed, I found out about them though craigslist, and the store location is not the best. Its located next to Pole Fitness, and there are very few parking spaces. The store is very clean, and everything seems organized. Some of the old NES games are kind of overpriced compared to eBay, and Als Music. But most prices are good. Game Lobster has a selection like no other store around. It beats Als Music selection hands down. I hope to see their business increase, and hopefully someday, relocate. A website too would help.

I have no idea where people are getting "Theyre lower then Amazon" from but theyre not cheap. The prices are higher then Amazon and eBay. Even when you include fees/shipping theyre still higher. I would never ever EVER buy from them when I can get it for cheaper online or even down the street from Als Music, Games and Movies (or whatever its called, its like across the street from the mall near Subway). All your doing is paying more to have it in your hands right this second. Dont buy from these guys, shop around and save your money!!

Having visited several used gaming retailers in the area, I can easily say that Game Lobster is one of the best. The selection is exhaustive, and for the most part the prices are reasonable. I was bothered by the poor location, and also because I had difficulties dealing with the employees there. Perhaps it was coincidental, but I had a difficult time understanding them because they spoke quietly and with thick accents. That aside, I would highly recommend Game Lobster!
