We were in a horrific accident on RT 81 on Sunday, Dec. 28th. Our car was totaled and our entire family was treated and released at the Winchester Medical Center Emergency Room. We were sent out with prescriptions only because the Medical Center Pharmacy was closed for holiday hours. The hospital put us up in the Courtyard Marriott for the night and we walked to Walmart to fill our prescriptions. My husband had a compression fracture to his spine, my children were back at the hotel with a broken nose, a dislocated shoulder, staples in both of their heads and sutures on their faces. I had been taken into the trauma unit from passing out, so my clothes were cut off, and I was wearing the clothes that they had given me. (A Holister t-shirt and scrub pants that were at least 10 inches too long for me.) We arrived at the pharmacy at 5:40, and the woman who received us told us that they couldnt possibly fill our prescriptions in the 20 minutes before closing. I showed her my medical bracelets, but I think she saw my clothing and assumed we were homeless, or looking for drugs. (Two prescriptions were narcotics for pain, two were for antibiotics.) She clearly had no empathy for anyone or anything. She was more concerned about the clock than she was about our comfort. I cant believe that anyone in health care would ever treat anyone like that ever. What a waste of air space. I hope that she reads this. I hope that shes in that situation someday herself. The pharmacist and workers have always been very kind. Theyve helped me to sort things out when theres an issue with a prescription, and theyve called to warn me about dangerous drug interactions when doctors have called the meds in erroneously. They always do their best to take care of prescriptions quickly and accurately. Ive been using them for years and Ive never once had a problem. Theyve even improved since they were able to hire more pharmacy workers. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a pharmacy.

I was just there at the automated registers & had to wait because 5 out of 8 were set up to only accept credit or debit cards. Its not like the $ needs counting unless there is a malfunction. Are the cash office people really so lazy? Do you have any idea how inconvenient this is for people who just want to pick up a few items & pay cash?
