First of all I would like to thank A.J. Barrett for helping get my first bike! I found Cycle World through and add that A.J. placed on CL. The ad stated a guaranteed for a loan if I had a $1500 down payment. I have struggled to build my credit back up since I lost my job 5 years back. During that time my car was repossessed and I couldn’t pay off a credit card. I thought this might be a too good to be true advertisement but I reached out anyways. A.J. returned my call 10 minutes after I reached out to him. He invited me to come in and chat with him about what I wanted and look at the inventory. After arriving A.J. asked if I had a chance to look around, I had, and he started asking what I wanted. As we walked around talking he took me through the in-house store, repair shop, and brought me out back to see other bikes they had. Everyone I met was very nice and asked how things were going. After explaining my experience level, chatting about what I wanted from my bike (a quick, powerful bike that would work for long rides), and looking around I found the Yamaha FZ1. It was in good condition and they were selling for a couple hundred below nada. We went back to his office and started the paperwork. This is where I thought my time would end at cycle world. As I expected my first app was turned down due to the repossession but A.J. told me he had someone who would work with me. The next day I receive a call from A.J. confirming I had at least a $1000 to put down. I told him I had up to $2000 but would rather stay around the $1500 like the ad stated. He told me the lender had turned me down but he was about to speak with the Branch Manager on my behalf to explain my situation and see if he could push it through. I received a call 2 hours later telling me to come to Cycle World and pick up my bike. A.J. had got my loan approved with only $1000 down and after speaking with the lending company they stated A.J. really fought for me to get a second chance. I can’t thank A.J. enough for reaching out for me. I put myself in the position that I’m in currently with debt, but I have worked very hard to get back to the good. A.J. saw this and was willing to go the extra mile to get me my bike. I just took it on a 140 mile ride Monday and look forward to being on the road a lot this summer! If there is a way for you to get a bike/you really want to work with a great salesman please reach out to A.J. There is no pressure and he will be very transparent about what is needed to get the bike. If he could get me approved I’m sure he can help many others.

Wow, Ive never had such a hard time spending my money in all my life . I emailed cycle world prior to my visit to let them know what bike and style I was interested in. After non receiving anything from the dealership I decided to walk into the store and look for the bike I wanted. I was approached by a young guy, and I asked if they had a bike in stock I was looking for. He didnt, but told me he could ask the owner about finding one. (Not a rare bike a simply 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 650r abs) I went in around one thirty , left and had not received a call. I called back at 5 , got the excuse that the owner had just walked in , he will get back to me. The day went on and I I got no call back... Next day at 930am I went in to ask about the progress of the bike and what I was asking for was difficult so I could possibly set a right expectation for myself. The sales person said not at all, and that he would follow up again. I decided to call the sales manager as I was growing tired of not being kept in the loop, I got a hold of him, he said that he remembers seeing my email and that he replied. I said well maybe I missed it but is it possible to ..... ( he starts talking to another employee about a customer .. Then puts me one hold .. After 5 minutes of waiting I decided to hang up. I was tired of chasing them for my money and decided the service is so terrible they do not deserve my money. Sunrise will gladly take my money and was very friendly. I would go to sunrise and Honda of Virginia beach over this place any day! Update: a year later I am back trying to get a new bike, I wish there were more cycle dealers.. I did end up getting a bike from cycle world since Dave took care of me after my experience last year.. So Im back to see about giving them another chance to help me get my bike quick. So far I went in Saturday, again was told Id get a call back from Dave or at very minimum the sales person to let me know whats going on.. Of course no call.. So I will again call them back today to see if they will take my money.. If not this is the last time I will bring my business to them at all... Again I called back they didnt think it was worth their time to come close to my price or give me a call back to let me know.. They have just lost a customer to Sunrise cycle who was able to give me the deal I asked for :)! If shopping around visit Sunrise instead!

Posting this review in hopes I will actually be able to talk to the owner and not the GM. Sales department at cycle world is amazing, so is parts, BUT Service and THE GENERAL MANAGER of the store are lacking. I bought my bike from cycle world. Soon after riding it is felt like it wasnt running right. So I called the GM and voiced my concerns. The GM berated me. Said that there was no way anything was wrong with the bike that anything that happened was because I wasnt a good rider and that if something was going on this soon with the bike it was my fault and that I shouldnt be able to ride because I dont know how to care for my bike. I had to get the bike towed into cycle world. The service department told me the reason it was running ruff was that a wire in the wiring harness was bad and that the clutch cable wasnt adjusted properly, as well as both of the spark plugs were bad. I had only had the bike for under a month. 230$ for that service. I told the GM that service said it was all things that were wrong with the bike before it was sold to me and should have been fixed. So I told the GM what happened, and again he berated me and said it was all my fault. So I rode the bike home 6 miles away. The next morning I got up and went for a ride I noticed a dead zone in the throttle so I took the bike back to cycle world and now service said that the clutch is burnt out and that its going to be 550$ plus labor to fix it. And once again the GM said it was my fault. 12 miles is the total distance it was rode since they adjusted the clutch. Now I just want to talk to the owner and work something out because the clutch should have been found before the bike was sold to me. Now I will have spent almost a 1000$ to ride a bike that I was told ran perfect when it was sold to me. Tldr:brought bike for problem paid for problem to be fixed GM was an @$$ and said it was my fault. Service said it wasnt. Paid 230 found out the problem wasnt fixed and GM still saus its my fault
