Im new to the area and went to this range because I heard it was the only decent rifle range out here. I most likely will not be going back but Ill just list pros and cons: Pros: -Well maintained facility. Very decent shooting lanes, targets, baffles, etc and obviously well taken care of. Everything works well and is as you would expect from a high quality range. -Staff is polite and well mannered. I had no problems dealing with anyone who worked there. -Steel lanes were a nice touch, although there is only 2 of them and it takes some time to get one if youre waiting. This is a problem when they charge by the hour. Cons: -Rules. There are a lot of rules here which Ive never encountered before and dont necessarily agree with. Heres a few: >No moving any weapons while in a cold period. This sounds normal at first, until you realize they mean even cleared weapons inside a locked case. If youre packing up to leave and they call the range cold before you get off the range, youre stuck there until its hot again. Obviously another problem while they charge by the hour. >Hot/Cold times. The hot periods are at least 45 minutes to an hour long. If youre okay with that then great, but for me that felt way too long. >No AR or AK pistols, even with an arm brace. >No practicing drawing your pistol from the holster unless youve specifically been approved by the range officer. >No using the 200 or 300 yard ranges unless youve been approved by the range officer. >They require your weapons have a chamber flag installed during cold periods. But dont worry, you can pay extra and rent them if youre like most gun owners and dont own one yourself. >There are plenty of others that I didnt care enough to remember, those are just the ones that stuck with me. -They ask for your Social Security number in their liability release form. When I asked why I was told its only in case I leave a firearm at the range and they call me and need to make sure theyre talking to me over the phone and not someone else. Why they dont just ask for any other 4 digit number Ill remember is beyond me. Thats very personal information for a very stupid use in my opinion. -Price. As Ive said before, they charge by the hour which is unlike any other range Ive been to. Also, you have to pay to rent the staplers for posting targets. I dont remember the exact price per hour but it ended up costing me $30 after about an hour and a half of shooting (most of which was stuck waiting to move around/waiting for hot or cold periods to end) and renting one chamber flag. In summary I wont be going back to this range. I felt like I was being swindled the whole time and cant stand constantly worrying about breaking some other stupid rule I dont know about.

It is interesting reading a few other reviews about the professionalism and great safety measures employed at this range. My experience there was quite different and indicative of a poorly run range. I suspect some of the other reviews are from employees or something of that nature. There were approximately 30+ people on the range when I was there, but no range officer to be seen the entire time I was there. That is very unsafe. It was very disorganized as well. Lanes are not numbered and people are scattered everywhere even in lanes that they should not be (for instance, there was a individual next to me shooting his semi-auto rifle....we were on the pistol range!). No one was there to enforce any of the rules. The one C2 employee there (who was behind the counter in the shop) was rude and appeared to be annoyed when asked questions. The site is far away and overpriced. The only reason to go there, if at all, is if you have nowhere to shoot a rifle as they have a rifle range. Also, some dirty tricks. Once you get there, you are advised you are required to by a "chamber flag" which, of course, they sell. This is a cheap plastic piece to put in your chamber to show its unloaded...but why does that matter if there is not range officer to walk up and down the range to check? You also have to pay to borrow "eyes and ears" (i.e., glasses/earmuffs). Every other range Ive been too provides that free of charge. And of course, you dont know you are charged for borrowing them until you check out. Also, you are charged extra for using birdshot ammo for your shotgun because it "tears up the targets." WTH?! All shotgun ammo does that. What a scam. There are other annoying things about this range as well, but you get the picture. I hope it isnt always like that, but it was when I was there. I would not recommend this range to my friends or any of my fellow leos. FYI: Im referring to the public range. I have no knowledge of the ranges rented out to various organizations.

Staff: First off, the Staff is polite, courteous and fun. They wont tolerate any stupidity (i.e. that means unsafe behaviour), but if you simply read the rules and follow them you will have no issues and likely really enjoy yourself. Overall the Staff were fun, courteous, professional and outstanding on all fronts. Range: Well kept and clean, the firing line is well covered and their are small stone/cement walk ways to most of the target lines in case it gets muddy. Trash cans are at numerous locations for old targets or ammo boxes. Their is about 10 lanes at 100 yards, 3 lanes at 200 yards (one bench, the other two are prone) and I think 3 lanes at three hundred yards, only one of which has a bench, the other two are prone only and those were several at 50 and 25 yards...I did not shoot pistol that day, however I think there are several pistol lanes. There is also some steel targets at various ranges. Overall the range was very impressive. But its difficult to have many shooters at the longer ranges. Pro shop/facility The pro shop was stocked with a good selection of targets, and ammunition, there was a good amount of rental equipment including spotting scopes, rests, bags, eyes, and ears. Some cleaning supplies were on hand for purchase. There was a vending machine and some tables to sit at. The restroom (mens room) was clean. Overall the pro shop was ok. I dont know if they offered any kind of gunsmithing services or anything like that. Final impressions were Great! Its a long drive for me but I will be back. I can see how this place would be quickly slammed on the weekends though.

Earlier in 2011 I went to this range multiple times and had nothing but good experiences. Recently, however, I went and had to put up with some of the most rude and unreasonable employees Ive ever seen at any range. One of them in particular watched my friend wait for 20 minutes at the pistol range, with his gun clearly visible on the table, then load and prepare to shoot his pistol before aggressively running up, and very rudely declaring that he couldnt shoot his pistol because the magazine came too far out of the bottom. When my friend asked why it mattered the only answer was DO YOU WANT TO LEAVE?!. We left and I dont ever plan on making the trip out there again. After waiting 20 minutes (that we had to pay for) to shoot only to be treated like that? When he could have calmly said something well before while the gun was on the table? Before I considered c2 a range that was free of all the arrogant, rude treatment that plagues most, but from now on I will just save the trip and be treated badly closer to home.
