I started going here a few years ago, initially not sure what the point of a hardware store was, but now its the store I frequent the most. This is one of the best businesses in Roanoke. I really appreciate that they carry all kinds of small cheap hardware like screws, bolts, springs, anything. They sell these items in any quantity you want so you dont have to buy a box of 20 bolts when you only need one. Their staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. I can go in there with any kind of household hardware problem and they can show me what I need to buy and give me advice about how to use it. I can even walk in with some weird part, and they can identify it, what it does, and where to find the replacement in their store. Theyve helped me with everything from clogged plumbing to toilet repair to wiring to lamp repair to paint to chainsaw maintenance to appliance repair to woodworking to landscaping and gardening. They are a little more expensive than Lowes and Home Depot, but its worth it because they stock odd parts, their staff is so helpful, and they keep plenty of staff around to help.

These guys always deliver superb customer service. I came in once with my 3 year old and needed a lot of different items from different areas. Potentially stressful situation. The employee gave my son his smartphone so he could watch "Up" while we talked and he found exactly what I needed. More recently I had a plumbing issue and the employee helped me and gave me several suggestions for resolving that issue. I have never received this kind of attention/consideration at the two big box stores in town and thats why I recommend this store.

I have 18 rental units, and Im in the Brambleton store almost every day....sometimes multiple times a day. Im at the other stores less frequently, but always get great help there too. I always prefer Northwest to the big guys........they have helped me too many times, and too many ways to count. Im there so much that some people think I work there, and will ask me where items are located, and I always try to help. Dont know what Id do without these guys being here on Brambleton..........Thanks Guys & Girls !!!!!

Excellent customer service time and time again. If theyre not too busy, the staff greet you at the door and will walk you through the store to find exactly what you need. Just slightly more expensive than Lowes or Home Depot, but not by much and the quality of their products and service is WELL worth a few cents more.

The staff is very knowledgeable of the huge inventory of things from the garden to plumbing. Some times it is hard to find some one to help you, but once some one is available, they are usually very friendly and helpful. Some what pricey.

These folks rock. If I need something, I will always go here first, big boxes second. I might pay a little more, but it is worth the customer service, the services offered, and the home town feel.
