Bell Engineering sells a reflashed ECU for a Mazdaspeed Miata. I purchased this ECU and had it configured for my mods, apparently. I installed it on the car and was told that air fuel ratios of 12.5:1 were OK when really, most other Mazdaspeed Miata owners with the flash have ratios that are safer, at 11:1. I was told that my ratio was OK (lies lies lies), and about a month later my motor blew. BEGi would take absolutely no responsibility and would just say that the problem was not related. My builder and everyone who saw the motor apart said the same thing, that it was caused by a lean condition. BEGi blamed everything under the sun, told me I put e85 in my car, wrong octane, had a bad fuel pump, every excuse possible. Corky Bell felt the need to personally email me and try to bellittle me and my builder, calling me "young" on several occasions, implying I was clueless and he knew everything because he wrote some book and he should be god. Then BEGi removed my negative review from their Facebook and blocked me to keep me quiet. AVOID BEGI AT ALL COSTS. Nothing but liars, thieves, incompetents, and absolute scum who have no idea how to run a business properly.

I have 4 years of experience with Steph and Corky at BEGi so my review is not from just one occurrence. You will need patience and forgiveness to deal with this company. "A few weeks" was a common estimate that turned into 3 months. When you call for status, it will be" next in line". YOU must confirm with them the total costs. After the 3 months of waiting, when I received the parts, there was an extra $150 charge on my card. This was for parts mods and shipping that was not estimated. They did refund a portion of it after I called them. Expectations and communication is where this company is lacking. You must examine all parts when they arrive. Take 5 minutes to confirm each one is built properly. The manifold I just installed has a 1mm weld missing so now have an exhaust leak until I have the time to remove it again for repair. I will not send it back for warranty in fear it may take another few months. On the bright side: The company has great potential as they are very knowledgeable and are willing to give plenty of tech support.

Ive bought parts from them a few times now, great stuff. These guys really help support the Miata community and do quite a bit to make these cars everything they should have been from the factory. I did get a plug stuck in their reroute spacer (used some heavy duty sealant, my doing not theirs) and later when I needed to install an additional sensor and realized I couldnt remove my old plug, they helped me out with a discount on a new spacer. Responses are quick, shipping times are to be expected for a relatively small community-supported outfit dealing in mostly heavily customized cars and situations. Ive been impressed. To all of the other poor reviews, I assume theyre just people who either a) havent dealt with companies in this industry before (this isnt McDonalds or Walmart) or b) Built a car themselves (or their tuner) that was a bit outside their skill level and got bit a bit. These are good people, and good engineers I trust to design quality parts to put on my car.

This company will steal from you if given the chance. I was recommended to buy a downpipe from someone BEGI had sold one to, and the person didnt end up wanting to use it, by Stephanie over the phone. After purchasing the downpipe from the outside seller that was recommended, I noticed it was not correct for my application. Stephanie from BEGI apologized for the mix up and told me to send the pipe to them and they would correct it or build a new one at no charge. I sent it to them around Oct last year and still have not received anything Apr this year. Every time I call them they try to tell me its shipping out that day or the next. STAY AWAY from this company! FLYN MIATAs extra cost is worth not getting ripped off from BEGI!

Ordered a part that I knew would take a couple of weeks to make and powdercoat, no problem. The confirmation put it at two weeks I think. Two days after the order I found a split in my OEM part that this replaced, Stephanie saw me post about it and let me know she would see what they could do. I had my part within a week, THAT is customer service! The part fit just as it should and has been on for months.

Awesome store. loved the customer service. Called to ask about a turbo system for my 97. They spent nearly a hour on the phone with me explaining basically every part to their kit. i ordered one about a month later and it arrived within 2 weeks. Ive had sellers from ebay take longer. Great company, and very informative.

Sells parts that do not fit/work as advertised. Customer support is poor/bad. Has attitude "It must be your fault". Never admits shipping/selling incorrect items. Customer has to pay return shipping cost. Would avoid.
