This is a tale of two departments. Deli and Meat. They couldnt be managed more differently. Here is the sad part of my tale of two departments; if I only visited the meat department, I would give it very high marks every time, because their meat department staff is always friendly and makes me feel welcome. They suggest items for me to buy and I walk away ALWAYS with a smile. Heres the other side. The Deli department makes you feel like you are an inmate going thru the line at chow. This topic has come up at a friends house more than once, because we go to Fresh Market a lot. One time my friend spilled a little juice out of the container she just purchased, and asked if they had a paper towel or napkin she could use to wipe it off. They said no. She then saw napkins in full view of both the person working and herself. Hmmm. I just witnessed a woman in her late 80s not 30 minutes ago (what fired me up to go to my desk and write this) ask a lady behind the counter if she knew where she could find bacon. The woman said, "Not here, this isnt the meat department, over there somewhere."She waved her hand in the air towards the meat department without looking up. SHe was irritated that this woman didnt know where the bacon was. I came in to buy several salads one day for a party I was attending that evening. I ordered several things, then asked if I could possibly sample the edamame salad. The man behind the counter seemed to be irritated that I wasnt thru shopping. He gave me a sample in a little cup and a receipt for about 30 cents. Really? I was already spending about 25 dollars on SALAD.... it was his way of trying to get rid of me. Yes, he wanted to get rid of me so I didnt spend more money. Hmmm. Another time, my friend ordered 2 deli trays for pick up. When she arrived, one was a deli tray and one was a fruit tray. She was fine with taking the one tray, knowing mistakes happen and she could make up the missing items at the olive bar, etc. When she told the lady she was only taking the one tray because she didnt order the other one, the woman got irritated and said that she needed to call her manager about it. She didnt even look at the order form to see if, indeed, that was the case. She wasted my friends time, as if she was going to "Get the law after her". My firend had no interest in discussing this with a manager, and she went from "fine with it" to irritated. It was apparently comical. I came after work to get some deli items a few weeks ago and the man waiting on me was more concerned about cleaning the back area that he walked away every time I ordered an additional item. Again, the attitude came out because I was taking too much of his time buying food from his department. The guys at the meat department are a completely different story. So friendly, so nice, so helpful... what is wrong here? Theres a disconnect here in management.

Sushi Review - Really like this Fresh Market shop and purchase Sushi here all the time for lunch. I like buying Sushi here because it always taste fresh, not old. Well...today was another story - I purchased a Spicy Shrimp Roll w/Brown Rice and the rice tasted like it was a day or two old, and the cucumber that was in the roll tasted old and slimy, and the cucumber pieces were far to BIG for the roll. I felt like I was eating a cucumber slimy salad, rather than a fresh spicy shrimp sushi roll. Very unfortunate, but I will probably not be buying sushi from here again.

This is such a great Fresh Market. They have increased the size and remodeled since the last time I was on the island. The meat department is amazing. Everything is so fresh and they have some marinated selections that are interesting and very good. They will even special cut meat to your specification. Their dessert department is also good. Just about everything you can imagine for your sweet tooth. All staff are always so nice and helpful. I love going to this Fresh Market.

The Fresh Market is a beautiful store, similar in concept to Whole Foods. Produce is fresh and attractively displayed, a large selection of wines and make your own 6-packs of beer. There is a huge selection of bulk candies and snacks and great desserts. The hot deli offers a number of ready-made meals. The focus is on gourmet, and many of the usual staples are absent (like 12-packs of Coca Cola), so youll still need to hit BiLo or the Pig.

Stopped here to pick up a few items. The store is very clean, nicely laid out. Most notably, the check out process (with chip reader) was the fastest and most convenient Ive used, anywhere. Chip reader was exceptionally fast and offered the option to email my receipt rather than print on paper. Id like to see this become the norm with all merchants.

I love this place. Ive only been shown the best of the best of service here. The store is really clean, well stocked, and highly organized. The staff here is pleasantly amicable and approachable. We go to Fresh Market at home, but we love it even more when travelling and staying at a resort. We use their deli counter and kabobs, add fresh fruit and vegetables. This gives healthy meals you can prepare, even with just a microwave.

Great meat counter with fresh lean cuts. Also fresh seafood. I also like looking for specialty items you can not buy at a regular store. Yes pricey but worth going to. I never leave without finding something new to try.

Great selection of fresh produce and unique items. Super friendly and helpful staff. Definitely expensive but worth it for some things. Side note, really like their brand of tortilla chips.
