I work here and take pride in it. It is very stressful for me as I have a learning disability that inhibits my productivity sometimes and makes life stressful occasionally but I try to do my absolute best everyday. I used to work in the meat department and the people who are regular shoppers here might recognize my picture and may have had a bad experience or a really good one. I have to apologize because I am doing my best to work through things that I have on my assigned list as well as the stress that comes with getting everything done on time. Now I work nights stocking or when desperately needed in a department at the last second. If you see me around feel free to let me know how I am doing kindly. Also if someone isnt getting to you please speak up because we probably dont know youre there or think youre just browsing which some people do and most importantly because were human too with feelings, outside issues, student loans, families, and our minds have a million things on them and a lot of customers (and, for some of my friends who work here too have told me, coworkers) can really leave us completely worn out and we like to converse with you and serve you but there are times where were just completely drained and have to keep trying to present 100% when feeling like 25.... Have a super duper day and try some of our store specific, fresh Frank and Sons Italian Sausage. Its actually really amazing and Frank the II Does a superb job making it and linking it! The quality and service in this store has declined dramatically over the past couple of months. The cheese department has been shrinking and so has the selection of gourmet foods. It appears that there must be new management in charge because he/she is more concerned about the bottom line than keeping employees and customers happy. I went to the butcher the other night to buy steaks at 8:30 and all the meat was covered up. The employee gave me attitude when I asked him to uncover the steaks so I could see what they had and informed me that he hadnt covered them up in the first place, so it wasnt his fault. I dont care who did it, please just show me the damn steaks. The cheese department has shrunk to the point of nothing but Giant Eagle brand junk. My favorite truffle cheese is gone and so is all the great selection of Italian cheeses. However, the employees in the cheese department are great! Its a shame that they dont have any products to sell. The produce is all in terrible shape because there simply isnt the manpower to properly rotate it. If this doesnt change, I will be taking the time to shop somewhere else. It is worth it to me to drive to East Liberty and pay the extra money at Whole Foods than to deal with the dwindling service at the Edgewood Giant Eagle.

Mostly a positive experience shopping here, though I have had a similar experience mentioned by Brian when needing to run in for a quick item just before closing. Most employees are wonderful and helpful, but some cashiers (teenage ones, usually), are not the greatest with customer service: mumbling, carrying on conversations with other cashiers while ringing a sale, that sort of thing. The pharmacy employees are kind, caring, and informative, which I really appreciate; I know how much stress they deal with day in and day out, Products are high quality and reliably available. Prices are a bit high overall, though, in a pinch, at least you know you can get a good product for the high price. The only way the cheese department could improve is if the store became a Market District. Id love to see more reasonably priced organic products and preservative free products, too.

Security guard confronted me at the door at 10:50 pm like I was scum and an idiot for shopping near the end of his shift/closing time. He wanted to know what I was going to get. I told him some stuff. He told me I had about 3 minutes to get it. I informed him I had about 10 minutes. He told me I would be out of the store by 11. He proceeded to follow me through the store. I sought out the manager who seemed to think this was great customer service. I left my intended purchases and walked out without buying. I havent been back since. I am a professional. I had taken off my tie and my sleeves were rolled up a 1/4. Made an online complaint. No reply.

They have an employee that has no regard for customer safety. Hes riding a skateboard on the sidewalk in front of the entrance and cutting off customers walking in and out of the store. His poor attempts at tricks has caused his board to fly out into the street in front of vehicles driving by. Called in to report this and it took more than 20 minutes for someone to come outside. Just another reason to change my choice of store. The Pharmacy is another story. Braddock Hills here i come.

Overpriced food.......even the "sale items"!!!!! The East End Co-op, Aldies, and Shoprite have fresher produce and organic, but are WAY cheaper. I challenge everyone to compare their circular to other stores, what youll find will anger you. There is no way one should go into their store and purchase, what would normally be 100.00 worth of goods, for 250.00!!! They are a joke and the only reason I may go now, which I do not make a practice of, is because they are close.

The best thing about this grocery store is the shopping cart runners. There are always enough shopping cards because those guys do a great job and often will take your cart from you before you even put it in the shopping cart corral. Produce goes bad quickly and I have even gotten stale loafs of bread. The return people are nice and will let you return moldy food easily (but it would be better if the food didnt go moldy so quickly in the first place)

The only thing they have going for them is some of their staff and location. They love to run sales on things they dont have. (For instance they run diet 7up on sale all of the time for buy 3 for $0.88 each, however you will never find 3 on the shelf, maybe 2 if youre lucky and they make sure to have at least 1 out, just not enough to get their sale price.) This seems to happen more often than not lately with many of their sales.

I was visiting the store from California, there were two black males employee in the hot food section making very personal derogatory remarks about a female customer who was looking at the product. One even came from behind the counter to look at the customer and called her a name outloud, they were both laughing and did not care if the customer over heard them, very bad customer service

I went to Edgewood Giant Eagle today and it was so cold that I lost circulation in my index finger. It was 68 degrees outside and at least 10 degrees colder in the store. I understand the need to keep the store cool but under 60 degrees? I cant go back, I literally couldnt feel my finger for about 15 minutes and it was white where all my other fingers had color.
