I just want to say that if you dont live in or near Philly, maybe dont buy your dress here. I had a really lovely experience at Philly Bride when I went to look for a wedding dress. I found a beautiful dress, but I was nervous because Im from out of town. I asked about whether weekend alterations would be an option, and the consultant said absolutely! I ordered my dress 1 year before my wedding date, so I figured coming into town for a couple fittings wouldnt be a problem. Wrong. First, I never heard anything from the salon for months after I paid for the dress- I reached out in June to check in about making an alteration appointment for July (which was when they said the dress would be ready) and they told me the dress likely wouldnt be in until early August. So my family readjusted our plans to go to Philly in August. In early August, they called to say my belt had come in. When I asked about the dress, they said itd be in any day now. I said great, and asked to schedule a weekend alteration appt for later in the month. The girl told me they dont do weekend alterations- seamstress is only there Wednesday thru Friday. I explained that I was from out of town and was never told that. She basically told me i didnt have to go to them for alterations if I didnt want to. This lead me on a frantic chase to find a seamstress (with 2 months til my wedding) who could help me closer to home since I work full time and cant get to Philly during the week. More than that, it took over 2 weeks from this phone call for my dress to arrive. I was told it would take a week to ship from the designer-- I asked if they could expedite shipping and was told no. When the dress finally arrived, no one called me to let me know until after my mom called to express her disappointment at the lack of service. Suddenly when she called a seamstress would be available on the weekend to help? But at that point, I had already made a backup plan since my plan to use Philly Brides alteration service had fallen through. I ended up having to take a day off to go pick up the dress so I could begin alterations. When I picked it up, I asked to try it on and was told no. I also had to ask if my belt was with the dress, and it wasnt. I ended up coming back in after walking outside and insisting on trying on the dress as I was nervous about missizing or any other issue. They blamed the delay in receiving the dress on the designer. Now, its 6 weeks before my wedding and I was just able to start alterations. More than that, the seamstress has charged a rush order fee due to the closeness to my wedding date. Through no fault of my own, I have to pay an additional amount, but I have no other choice as the dress needs alterations. no one at Philly Bride ever took any responsibility for the fact that it took 10 months for my dress to arrive. Although I found a lovely dress, I shouldve bought it closer to home because the customer service after purchase was far short of an enjoyable experience. It just became stressful and really disappointing.

My experience with Philly Bride was not a pleasant one, from beginning to end. I tried on about 30 dresses in five different stores. I was looking for a dress with a full lace back to cover a tattoo on my upper back area. When I tried on "my dress" at Philly Bride I was told by the sales representative, Jen, that Philly Bride could customize this strapless gown and add a lace back for around $300. I thought "WOW!" What a bargain, YES ill buy the dress! But that "$300" was a complete lie. Im going to save the headache and drama of elaborating on my dress fittings. But to summarize, my fittings began in January and about mid-March I was told my bill for customizations + lace to add to the back would add $1,000 on to the total cost of my dress. I was told my customizations would be around $300 originally, so how are we at $1k? I asked to speak to the owner, Linn, and she said that if I was unhappy with the cost that I was welcome to come pick up my dress and TAKE IT ELSEWHERE!!! After 4 fittings, and 1.5 months until my wedding day, youre going to tell me if I dont like the $, to take my business else where? I was later told that Jen has done this multiple times to other brides, just to push the sale of a wedding gown on an unsuspecting customer. To add to the stressful dress purchase, my dress wasnt finished w/ customizations until the day before my wedding. Completely stressful and unprofessional! Between driving an hour back/forth to Philly, and time spent for fittings, I wasted 25 hours of my time on this dress and spent $60 from two parking tickets bc the seamstress was extremely late to my appointments and caused my meter to run out. (Am I supposed to walk outside to put money in the meter in my wedding dress? No.) SO unprofessional. If youre still reading, here is the worst part of this entire situation. When I was dress shopping, I had a healthy budget. I have no problem spending $2 or $3k on my wedding dress. But if Im spending that kind of money, my dress should at least be able to last me one night (4 hours) before breaking. Thats right, my dress broke numerous times. My dress ruined my first dance. The straps that I had customized, broke. My mother had to come out on the dance floor in the middle of my first dance (that we had professionally choreographed and took dance lessons for) and fix my dress. It completely ruined it. RUINED IT! This dress, that I spent $2k when all is said and done, was a complete waste of money and a waste of my time. The bustle broke three times, and my aunts finally resewed it on. My wedding reception was 3 hours long..and I probably spent an hour of that time trying to sew my fricking dress back on my body. I am the farthest thing from a Bridezilla. There was absolutely nothing more stressful, nor disappointing, than my experience working with Philly Bride. I urge all brides to go elsewhere. You will thank yourself, and save yourself a lot of headaches.

I never really write complaints but Im so upset and frustrated that I wrote my first Yelp and Google review. This is the worst bridal salon ever. I have ordered a Hayley Paige dress in store back in April 2015 when I was still living in Philly at the time and when I purchased it, the bridal consultant said that the dress will be delivered to my place in Houston in 6 months from April 2015 and I had paid $1.5K deposit for the dress already. Although my wedding date is May 14, 2016, alteration appointments in Houston from my favorite seamstress have to be booked 7 months before the wedding. I called Philly bride so many times starting in Oct since that was exactly 6 months from since I purchased it as they promised. They were so unhelpful; they kept giving me run-arounds and "oh well call you back" and never got a call back, they never called me with any updates. They kept telling me oh your dress will ship most likely at the beginning of November, then when I called in the beginning of November, they said oh your dress will ship at the end of November or beginning of December. I was so frustrated because I couldnt get an appointment with my favorite seamstress here in Houston. Then they finally called me and informed me that my dress arrived in store and will ship out the day before Thanksgiving. Initially, they informed that shipping cost will be $75 next day air. Then when they actually had to ship it out, they were like "oh its going to be $75 for 3-5 business days shipping." At that point, I just did not want to argue with them anymore. I paid $76 and the remaining $1.5 K for the dress. Then my dress finally in a torn box with no garment bag, they literally taped my shipping address on the same box that the dress was shipped to their store from Jim Helm. I will post the pictures of the box that my $3500 wedding dress came in. Its so upsetting. I ended up ordering a garment bag and hangers from amazon. I would not recommend having a business with this bridal salon. PLEASE RUN AWAY.
