I went in needing to print out my safeway shopping list after being strong armed into signing up for the customer loyalty program in order to get the best prices. The store in The Dalles wi-fi was down, once, they couldnt print my list. Another time their printer was broken and I asked Paula from the floral dept. to help, she belittled me for not having a printer at home before walking away without a word as to what type of assistance she was going to get for me. I called a month later to verify the printer was working and was told it was still unavailable to customers for printing the safeway shopping lists. A month after that, I happened to be in the store with a friend who forced me to go and I saw theyd moved the computer to the customer service area, so I figured the printer was fixed. However, yesterday, when I went there to attempt to get shopping done, I was advised the printer at the customer service counter had been broken for a full three months. The safeway employee offered to let me borrow a pen and some paper to copy my list off the computer and advised me that her manager couldnt explain why their printer was still broken. This safeway, by the way, is located RIGHT NEXT DOOR to a Staples office supply store. I had, technically, made three complaints to employees and managers at that Safeway about the malfunctioning printer and the lack of service to customers because of it. I finally decided the best course of action would be to drive to the next closest Safeway to complain at that store because my complaints in The Dalles had been ignored. The manager of the Safeway in Hood River had to call the store manager in The Dalles and he was NOT EVEN AWARE the printer in his own customer service center was broken. Furthermore, I asked employees in The Dalles store if there was ANY working printer so I could access a copy of my shopping list and was lied to, repeatedly. The manager of the Hood River store advised me that after talking to the manager at The Dalles store, he advised there are MANY printers and an employee should have facilitated the printing of my shopping list. While the people working/running the Hood River store are clearly on top of their game, the fact that the employees/managers in The Dalles store were so inept, I dont know if Ill even be able to shop at ANY Safeway again.

The way they take care of me... Every dept. Deli, flowers, pharmacy (although its usually very busy) meat and the checkers.. I live here and shop almost daily.. Special order every week and they always know me and smile.. I love Safeway.. And I can ALWAYS find parking..unlike its competitors.

Gas Station Restroom was disgusting, feces all over toilet, the inside & outside of the toilet seat, floor & sink filthy!!! Looks like "never cleaned" worst then off the road outhouse!

It can be hard to find things in this store. For example, chips are spread out on three different isles plus end caps. Helpful staff and decent prices make up for it.

Good selection and prices. Sometimes I find cheaper stuff at Fred Meyers, but the parking at Safeway is exponentially better.

Quick, easy, self checkout. Starbucks included! Pharmacy can be backed up so make sure you go at non-peak hours!
