I have been in this particular location several times. I like to do my research before making any kind of purchasing decision especially on a firearm. On 4-2-16 I found myself asking Sean several questions about Shotguns. Understanding that his job is based on answering questions all day by potential consumers, I was amazed at his willingness to share his knowledge of the guns I was interested in with me. The next day 4-3-16, I came back hoping to have a similar customer service experience but Sean was not there. Instead another individual by the name of Grayson was there. Grayson, just as helpful as Sean, helped me answer a few last minute questions before I pulled the trigger on the shotgun. What impressed me even more was the willingness of the manager Billy, to price match the firearm I was interested in with another brick and mortar store in Garner, NC. Billy saved me $60 and a drive to Garner, NC. Normally, I prefer to save money and buy online when at all possible. The customer service that these individuals has made me a loyal customer of this particular location. Thank-you guys for your hard work in the retail environment!

On one of my visits to Gander Mtn in Winston-Salem, I had the pleasure of getting helped by one of the associates, Aaron Campbell. He was knowledgeable about the product I was looking at and a delight to work with. But what was the most impressive event was during my next visit to Gander Mtn. I was needing assistance and saw Aaron. He remembered me and asked if he could help me.(he was getting ready to go on break, I thought). This very Professional person helped me for about 2 hrs get everything I needed and all paper work took care of. I kept apologizing for delaying him from taking his break and he kept telling me it was not a problem and how he liked helping the customers. Later I found out that he wasnt going on break, but was getting off of work. He helped me for over 2 hours after he was supposed to be off from work and never once complained. This is unheard of in todays young work force. Im still shocked. Thank you again, Aaron, for taking the time to work with me. I hope I get to be a customer of yours again real soon. I hope Gander Mtn rewards you some day for your professional courtesy to their customers

Going out of business, pretty much void of any thing Id be interested in buying now, unless the items were discounted far more than they currently are (20-50%). Its obvious that some camping merchandise was pulled out of the store when the camping items hit the 20% discount mark. (For example Eno hammocks and accessories). These are items that are rarely discounted much and they likely sold these as a lot to a liquidator or will be selling online for higher profit than at 20+% off to the public. Considering the number they had in stock just 2 days earlier, this is the only explanation. Ive also noticed new low quality products showing up in the store that werent there before, probably Chinese, super low cost items purchased by the company who is liquidating gander mountain assets and are intent on using the stores to peddle junk at high profits while they can. I wont be back until the store is rebooted as Gander Outdoor.

I had gone into gander mountain a few days ago and was helped by a man named Gary Curtis. He was really knowledgeable about different kinds of firearms and was really patient with me even after I told him I was not going to buy that evening. I had left that night a thought about it a little more and decided to go back this morning and luckily he was there again after a few more questions he helped me decide on a Mossberg 500. Absolutely the perfect salesman he knew all of his product and didnt try to over sell anything to me. He asked if i needed a case i said yes but just for transport not anything fancy he brought me over to some that were simple yet nice looking for about 14 bucks same goes for hearing and eye protection he knew the product and answered questions so i could decide what was right for me ... Awesome guy and awesome place. Cant wait to go back

Went in to look at handguns. The selection is phenomenal, the customer service sucks and the prices are outrageous. For anyone else in the market for a handgun go to ProShots or Atlas and pretty much everything is $100 cheaper. Also, if the employees at Gander happen to read this, if a customer says they have a gun on layaway down the street but theyre still debating color, the proper response -especially when it is said with an attitude- is not, "well then if you already have it then why would you want to buy the same gun?" Some people are willing to pay the $20 fee to take a gun out of layaway and not purchase it, ya idiot!

Great experience with Gander Mountain and a welcome addition to Winston-Salem, NCHowever, regarding Galco holster product:My suggestion to Gander Mountain regarding carrying the Galco Kingtuk is that Galco did not provide customer service upon request with the dysfunctional Kingtuk that I purchased from your store and they later advised that there is no "implied warranty" on their product. I would be careful regarding carrying this product in your store and for customers before purchasing a Galco holster, according to their customer service department, there is no implied warranty on their product.

Went to buy my wife a compound bow and met Steve, the "Archery Tech". After asking him questions and getting huffs and puffs before each response, I realized how much of a douche he was. No matter what bows were on the wall, to him they all sucked and the only good bow was his expensive Hoyt bow. Hes extremely rude and unpleasant to deal with. If you like any of the bows at Gander I suggest take it somewhere else for advise and setup. Not to mention the peep he put on my wifes bow fell out before we could even shoot it. As far as the other parts of the store its alright by me.

I came in around 9am on Thursday for their big "early Black Friday sale" I turned 18 in June and was excited to buy my first gun by myself, with the help of the manager at gander, everything went really smoothly, stress free and I can easily say Im excited to get my next gun from there! My family and I are all frequent window shoppers there and we will definitely be returning! Would also like to put a shoutout to a customer who was there who really helped us from the moment we got in! Go to good places, get good help and meet good people!

I was at store 00339 at 1:19 pm today. I purchased a pink camo hoodie for 6$ with 80% off but was charged 12:99. My husband took a picture of the carousel with the 80% off sign but they would not adjust my price or give me a refund. They just said all sales final and the signs dont mean anything. They committed fraud. They finally refunded my money after asking for a manager in a very loud voice but ended the transaction with.. "for future reference all sales are final".

I hate to see any business go out of business. But I hate more when a business lies to their customers. Been watching a couple prices on a few things, store is 40 to 70 off now and two of the things I have been watching are now higher in price, others are within a few dollars when they were 20 percent off but now are 40 percent off. Do not lie to your customers. Maybe this is the reason they are going out of business.
