We took our scooter to this shop on Saturday, September 4th 2010. We told the man that we left the scooter with that it wouldnt start and we werent sure why. We also told him that we needed a new kick start and ignition put on the scooter. He said that they would look at it and order the necessary parts then they would give us a call. I ask specifically asked when he thought the scooter would be finish and his answer was by the following Friday or Saturday because they had a lot of bikes in line. A week went by with no news of what was going on with our scooter so on September 13th I called the store to check on our scooter. Over the next 7 business days I called the store many times and was given the run around by both the manager and one staff member. There were three instances where I spoke to the manager and he said he would call me back but didnt, so I had to call back AGAIN. On one conversation the manager said they were unable to locate an ignition that would fit the scooter so I told the manager to just fix the kick start so we could get the bike started. Finally, on September 22nd, after voicing how frustrated I was and that we were just going to come pick up the bike to take it somewhere else, the same staff member that had told me an hour before that the scooter was still "in line" to be fixed, called me back and said the scooter was ready to be picked up. Then the manager called and gave me the total bill, which was reasonable for the work that I thought they had done. We got to the shop and found that they had only replaced the battery (which was almost new) and rigged up the ignition with a switch similar to a light switch. So the scooter would start but anyone could now start it. They didnt replace the kick start and the manager acted like I had given him the option of fixing the kick start OR the ignition. Which was NOT the case at all. We were charged for 2 hours of labor for a job that took maybe 45 mins. However, the manager was very nice and said he was sorry that it took so long to get the scooter finished. He said that he would order a kick start and then call us by the following Friday. He said we could bring the scooter back and that he wouldnt charge labor to put the kick start on. I asked if they had found anything else wrong with the scooter and he said the ONLY problems were the battery and getting it started because the ignition and kick start were broken. Has he called about installing the kick start? NO. Is the scooter still running less than a month later? NO. What was the problem with the bike that they completely missed? The gas tank was cracked So now after a huge headache and $160 bucks down the drain we will have to buy a new scooter. Guess where we will NEVER go again...? Thats right! The Charlotte Scooter Shop. I do want to say that the manager is very nice and I think he is trying to run a legitimate shop, however they are unorganized, understaffed, have a lack of proper business communication and obviously missed something on our scooter that could have EXPLODED while in use.

I brought in a scooter that has been sitting for a year without starting and didn’t have time to work on it myself. I paid what I think was $65 00 for a diagnostic to see if they could get it running. A month later and I had to call to see what was the diagnosis, and they haven’t gotten to my scooter yet. I stopped by a few more times the next few weeks on my way from work. Finally, the diagnosis was; We cleaned the carburetor, It won’t start and that it needs a new Carburetor because it is rusted out. HMM? I ask; isn’t the carb made of aluminum? I was told that it was the brass in the carb that was rusted!!!!! Well folks, I was in the NAVY and I can tell you brass doesn’t rust. I had them help me load up the bike, and as I was strapping it in I found out the carburetor was missing. The guy asked me if I wanted it put back in and I said “Well yeah!” These jerks said don’t bite my head off, this, after they tried to steal my carburetor and gave me a bum diagnostic. So I waited, and waited for them to find it. He installed it and in my hurry I didn’t notice that it was missing 1 gas hose and many body part screws from the scooter. It gets better. I took that carb apart and it was not cleaned, the float valve wouldn’t move, so I cleaned it with sea foam and carb cleaner. It had never been touched. ALSO; the battery had 1.5 volts on it. They never charged the battery to see if it would start. I don’t care if they only kick started it, they should have charged that battery. I charged it. Well, now I have a clean carb and 12 volts strong on the battery and it starts, just missing screws from multiple places. I t was a waste of time and money and parts to learn that Charlotte Scooter shop on Central avenue has terrible service and is unprofessional in every way.

Called about a part that had to be returned because it was wrong. They told me they had no record of it, even though I had the invoice. I paid $85 for an ignition, and it was the wrong one. One person took it and said he would order the correct one. I called to get a status update, and the person on the phone told me there was no way they didnt have it in stock because most Chinese manufactured scooters used the same parts. This was not the case as was previously established by his coworker. I took it upon myself to drive across town with the invoice to jog his memory, and upon him calling a coworker, he was able to produce my correct ignition that was in a box on his desk. I had my 4 year old child with me and the men in the back of the shop continued to use vulgor language in plain view of my son. The place is disgusting and they run a terrible business. Lock your car and leave valuables out of sight before going inside as well, just a recommendation.

A shady business that sold me a bad scooter. First they dont fill out the paper work properly so I cant get it registered so I have to travel back and forth to this place twice to get my title right. Then the back tire leaks and they cant find anything wrong with it and send me on my way. It still leaks, I call, they tell me to bring it in and I have to pay $80 to get it towed. They still dont find anything wrong and send me on my way. It goes flat again, my boyfriend finds the problem in just a few minutes and then they FINALLY tell me that I dont have to pay for a tow because now they suddenly mention their transport service. They take two weeks to get me new rims. Now it wont start and I come to find out that what I thought was just a weak engine turns out that the scooter has NEVER worked at top performance even though I bought it brand new. Luckily it is till under warranty, but what happens in 7 months when I still have a piece of crap scooter to deal with?
