Years ago I loved it and Im shocked to see some of these negative reviews. Way back when the workers were polite and pleasant and they used to sell artisan Americana products which you could not get easily anywhere else. What has changed? I plan on visiting again when in town.

I starts coming here 30 years ago with my sister and her kids, and now I come with my kids and I try to let them feel what my childhood was like...from the tiddlywinks to rock candy. I leave with a smile and a token of my childhood everytime.

Its basically a candy store with normal items marked up at least double what you could buy elsewhere. The 2 women who worked there just seemed nasty like we were bothering them. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else- NOT HERE.

Loved the old tins, stoneware and bottles that line the shelves. It sets the mood to the way things were. Check out the counter. Has lots of gift items but the organization that maintains it needs the $$$ to keep it running.

A time warp. One of the most historically important buildings on Long Island. Ive heard it may be the oldest continuously running store on the Island, if not the country.
