Visited this store last month and was VERY shocked at some of these reviews I just read on here. When I walked into the store I was very suprised that I had to wait in line to drop off my shoes. There were 5-6 people in front of me and in the past anytime I walked into a shoe repair I am the only person in there. That set the bar for me very high for me because I thought to myself these guys must be good to be so busy. Looking around the store I noticed piles of shoes everywhere to be fixed. Waiting in line all 3 gentleman seemed very polite to the people they waited on. When it came to my turn I showed them my shoes that I had thought were a lost cause. A puppy had chewed several straps and parts of the other shoe. He explained what they could do and I was told to stop back in a week.I called back a day early cause I was in the neighborhood to see if they were ready and was told they were. I picked up my shoes and absolutely loved the job they did for me. Could hardly tell they where chewed at all! The price i thought was very fair, cheap infact and will have no problem telling anyone who I think the best repair shop in Rochester is ... Its Sofia Shoe Service

Will definitely not return here, very bad experience. I had a boot with a heel that had fallen off. They told me it was a simple fix to glue on the heel. I left them with the broken boot after being told that I only needed to leave the one boot. I picked up the repaired boot later, and when I put it on at home, discovered that they had distorted and compressed the heel, so the boots were now uneven to walk on. This was right before a vacation, so I was stuck with uneven shoes. When I took the boots back, they said they would repair them, and there would be no charge since it was to fix the original repair. When I picked them up the second time, I was told they would have to charge me after all because they had to rebuild the sole.. I tried explaining that they were fixing a botched repair, and the guy rudely shoved the boots in my direction in a rude tone. Apparently rudeness and botched repairs are what they consider customer service here. They lost a customer

I took a low shoe boot to have the heel cap replaced. Initially they wanted to keep my shoes for 9 days until I insisted on picking them up sooner. My shoes were raped and pillaged while in their possession. My boots were only 1 year old and the sole was take out and replaced with some filthy, old shoe sole. Also taken from the boots was a leather strip from the interior back portions of the boot to keep the heel from rubbing. The boots look like they had been through a war! After talking with another reputable shoe repair store and without naming Sofias Shoe Service, the gentleman stated that they get a least one complaint about Sofia Shoe Services steeling parts from shoes and that they are known in the shoe repair business for this.

They broke an expensive pair of heels when all they had to do was replace the plastic tip on bottom of heel. Then he let me pay for the shoe repair but when I pulled the shoe out of the bag, the heel was broken in half and covered in thick glue. He said, well ... Those shoes look metal but the heel is not. Oh, really? Well not only did his comment make no sense, he didnt apologize for trying to swindle me out of a pair of shoes, he tried to take advantage of me paying for the tips to be replaced when they could no longer be worn, and Im also out of a pair of shoes. I have never written a review but STAY away from this store if you care about your belongings. I WISH I could have read a review like this before I decided to try is place.

This place leaves a lot to be desired....the inside is completely filthy and smells like chemicals all the time. No ventilation at all. I brought in a $200 pair of ugg boots that needed new elastic on the toggle buttons. They kept the boots a month after promising a quick fix and then called and said they could not find beige elastic cord anywhere. So I went to Jo-Ann fabrics and bought some for a DOLLAR. The man got grease on my nice boots so I took them back and fixed the darn things myself. NOT IMPRESSED!!

I was promised that a repair would be done on a particular day and it wasnt. When i went back the next day to pick it up the store was closed although I was told they would be open. I called but no answer for the rest of the day. When i went back to the store on the next business day they were closed also although the sign in the window said they should be open. I am VERY dissatisfied and have wasted alot of time and gas going to pick up my item. I will no longer use this Shoe Repair.

I did not go into this store so Im not sure about the other people that work there but the woman I spoke to was really rude and abrupt! I mean youre a small business you need all the money you can get in these hard times why be rude to a customer?!!?? I called Cobblers Corner Shoe Repair and the man I spoke with was so helpful, gave me an estimate and told me what they could possibly do with my issue.

I love some of the shoes I own and Sofia is pretty much the only place that I take to fix them... tried the Eastview Mall place once, learned my lesson... Last time I dropped the shoes at Sofias I thought the quote was a bit high, but they did a great job... If you have the shoes you love, Sofia will extend their life, thats for sure!

First time with them. Brought in Ugg boot to have the zipper repaired. Was told the price would be $15 and when I went to pick it up, I was charged $20. Now the boot zipper is broken again due to poor quality of workmanship. Im extremely disappointed that their integrity was not complete. Will not go back there again.

I brought in boots to have the calves stretched. They were not noticeably stretched. When I came to pick them up, the outer door was locked even though the shop was open. The woman inside walked by, looked at me through the window trying to get in and walked away. So bizarre.

A bit overpriced (heel repair was third of the new shoes price). Slow (one week for heel tips replace!). Worst of all - the new heel tips fell off 2 weeks later. Not going there any more...

Ok, so you dont go this place expecting great customer service....but they do good work. Had to get the heels fixed on a pair of pumps and they returned them to me looking like new.
