hands down the WORST experience i have ever had at a dress store. when finding a dress the owner was on the phone while helping and sizing me. she got me the WRONG size dress, refused to get me the correct size and only gave me an option of alterations, which i did not want done by her store because i have had several friends get alterations there and the beading was falling apart the first time they wore it, merrily was never at her store when i tried to call her. i made SEVERAL trips down to the store to find her and ask her for help and she was NO WHERE ever to be found.. she will lie straight through her teeth about what "happen to your dress," she talks badly about her customers behind their back. she is obnoxious and extremely RUDE to you if you catch her trying to scam you. most despicable "business" practice i have ever encountered. she made my prom experience a living HELL and there are several people i know who would say the same thing.she says she cares about her customers but its all talk and all fake. i highly do NOT recommend this store. you are much better off at flair, pazaz, or estelles. merrily will say she gives her dresses the best discounts... well there is a reason her dresses are so cheap,, because there is bound to be several issues you will encounter during the unpleasant process of getting a dress at this store. id rather pay double at another store then go back to that store ever again. if you dont believe me check out all of the other reviews on this store at Yelp under "23 reviews that are not currently recommended." i did not waste my time reading merrilys reply to this but i see she implies that this was brought to court but it was in fact not LOL, BBB got involved and they recommended that i take her to court bc a judge would be in my favor but i didnt because i was not going to waste anymore of my time on this nonsense. there were zero threats to her store and no police report made because i would have been notified, which of course i was not. i dont care about the dress or the money or the store. i just made this review to help other girls not waste their money and time. this whole situation got out of control and twisted with lies. i did not was more of a discount, all i wanted was simply my dress in my size ... and i would have happily walked out but instead after all the hard ship you put me through, after she made me cry over the phone in her store and threatened to call the police on me for asking if you could please reorder my dress in my size and then i agreed to leave my money there and the dress, after i already bought another dress from another store, she decided to order my correct dress size. (probly because she knew she was wrong),. she was out of her mind to think i would take that dress and pay the rest after how badly i was treated. yes my dad was angry in her store bc i was dealing with a $300 dress of my own money, who wouldnt be angry? he even called the store after we left to apologize if he came off the wrong way and said that he knows its not the young girls fault. I AM the victim in this situation but i truely and honestly wish her and her store the best so that maybe the next girl in this situation will have it a little bit easier. trust me, merrily this is the last time youll be hearing from me lol

Well let me start my saying that the two dresses I purchased are absolutely beautiful and the the staff is amazing. Had I not had an incident with the owner, this review would be 5 stars. After reading another not so good experience with the owner, I decided to right the review so maybe the owner will become more professional. This is a really nice store she runs with a nice selection and great staff. So my friend and I come into her store to purchase two dresses for our daughters for a Disney themed wedding for my older daughters wedding. We found two dresses off the rack and paid for both in full. Merrily gave us a nice price. She held the dresses for us so we can have them altered by them. I asked Merrily when should be come back for alterations. She said the end of June after prom season would be good. So now both my dresses are at her shop and both are paid in full. I call the store on June 30th, July1st, July 5th, (a couple of times at different times durning the day) and finally 6th at 11:05am before I eventually drove over to the store. When I got to the shop at about 11:50am the shop was closed. By now I am panicked that the shop is out of business, with my two paid in full dresses inside. There was no sign, but UPS had a sticker on the door that said "sorry we missed you". So I didnt know what to do so I left a note that said something like: I have been calling for two days to make an appointment to get my two dresses fitted and no one is answering the phone so I drive 45 minutes to your store and you are closed. If I dont hear from someone by Friday, I am going to put this up all over fb, twitter, and instagram. And I left my name and cell. I then put the note under the door (so no potential costumers would see it). While I was still in the car, an employee comes and unlocks the door. I jump out of the car and tell the boy that the note was from me. I was all flustered and told him what happened. Then I told him that Im sorry, I panic and didnt know what else to do. I had over reacted. The boy was so nice and PROFESSIONAL, I then made a fitting appointment and left happy. The next day I got a phone call from the owner telling me how I am threading her. She would not let me speak. It became both of us yelling at each other over the phone. She said that they were on vacation and posted in on facebook. I tried to tell her I do not use Facebook, Twitter, or instagram. I said it should be on you message or on your store door. If she would have said, I got you note, Im sorry you were upset but......I would have immediately said, Im so sorry I over reacted I was wrong. Becase I was. This very unprofessional business owner would not listen to a customers complaint. If Merrily keeps treating her customers like that, she wont be in business long because word wil, get around. I do not want to try to ruin anyones business, she has a beautiful shop and awesome staff. Needless to say, I picked up both dresses and will get them fitted else were.

My third time buying a dress at Merrily Couture. Once for prom, once for a wedding, and this time a firemans insulation dinner. Each and every time I step foot in this shop, Im always given attention and great customer service. Every other dress store Ive been to on the island has always been a disappointment in comparison to Merrily Couture. I needed short dress for this event, a nice one but not too expensive, and Merrily her girls helped me find just that. I prefer black dresses and especially going with my guy friend and around a crowd of people I wanted to be well dressed, and I found that perfect dress thanks to her. My dress came in from the designer Scala in just a week like Merrily promised. I started alterations right away, and the alterations were done in just a couple days and it fit like a glove and exactly how it wanted it. I love how personal Merrily is with her customers, shes a great lady and works with everyones budget and tries to help wherever she can. Everyone I sent here has had a positive experience, cant wait to come pick a dress for prom again this year. I will be getting dress #4 at Merrily Couture.
