I am writing this review because I have to take exception to the "rude and inappropriate" review made by Eric. I have been using Apollo Shoe Repair for 33 years since moving to Douglaston. People....this is a lost art....not just repairing but RESTORING shoes to original wearable condition. This is a family run business who have had the same employees since I found them. Their work is impecable. Yes, have prices gone up.....so has everything else....but it is a lot cheaper to fix your favorite shoes than go buy new ones everytime you need soles or heels. So to those of you who complain about prices going up, I say, this is still the best value around....courteous and helpful staff (and lets not forget about the nice selection of shoes, boots and sandals that they offfer too!).

I am writing this review because it just so happens that I saw the previous review. I have been a customer of Apollo Comfort Shoes since I first moved to Bayside over 25 years ago. I was a customer when Apollo Shoes was strictly a very small shoe repair shop. Over the years Apollo has grown from a shoe repair shop to a full service shoe store. He grew little by little and Apollo Shoe grew for two reasons--- expert shoe repair and great customer service. Stores like Apollo are more and more difficult to find and I would hate for others to judge a great neighborhood store by the review that appears before mine. This store is great from its shoe repair to its selection of shoes and Im glad that Bayside has an anchor store like Apollo

The owner is unbelievably rude. He got upset each time a shoe didnt fit me. And after 3 try-ons, he said "It seems like youre just going to try things on and never buy anything", and he wouldnt let me try anything else. So much for trying to patronize my local shoe store! He made a face like he didnt believe me when I said a strap was uncomfortable. The old woman who helps him is only marginally better. She frowns and acts like youre putting her to too much trouble if you ask to try something. Im sorry, but I certainly hope they go out of business and get out of town.

I have been coming to this store since i moved to new york. And although there selection and size has expanded and changed, their service has remained as personalised and wonderful as the first day i walked in there. Although i have now moved further out on the island i still return every winter, especially now for my uggs, and any time i need a shoe fixed. The location is great and there is ample parking not far from the entrance.

This Mom and Pop store in Bayside Queens is one of my favorite stores to visit when Im on the Blvd. Theres only a few employees, but theyre friendly and helpful. Especially the Woman whos been there many years. Everytime I have to fix shoes or bags theyre Amazing: Just like new!!! We should all help out Our Mom and Pop stores by going to them often when were in need.

Very rude man at the cashier . Unprofessional an nasty . Have had several incidents with him , where he talks very rude to people . They dont value their customers with personell like that . Many of my friends have also had bad experience with him . I believe he is the owner

A local family owned buisness that does great custom work. I brought them a cheap leather attache case that is priceless to me, and they repaired the handle to new and treated it and me like we where the only customers. All my leather and shoe work goes here from now on.

I recommend Apollo Shoes to everyone, except they sell comfortable shoes brand name the work on the shoes need to be repaired is excellent.
