If youre a west coaster, this is by far the best you can get on the east coast that isnt Stumptown. Look up their website and youll see that the people here care about the coffee they produce and the drinks that they make. I noticed they pull ristretto shots of which I inquired if they could do "long pull" shots. (If by now youre not understanding, just order a Mocha and youll be good) Their machine is specifically calibrated for ristrettos due to the grind of coffee that goes into the machine. Folks, that means: - They understand coffee bean roasting - coffee bean oil density - humidity of the coffee shop in question - boiler temperatures for their espresso machine - what to look for in an espresso shot in terms of colors. Like I said, you wont find a better coffee shop. They produce their own cold brew and nitro brew (huge on the west coast, catching on in the east) and have a terrific breakfast menu. Looks like if youre needing a more adult pick me up in the afternoon (or morning), they have a fix for that too! Visit them, get a drink and relax. Terrific place for a cup of coffee whatever your tastes may be.

We havent been to Portsmouth in a few months and noticed this new cafe opened so we met friends there to have some coffee. The vibe is awesome! They have a selection of old albums you can choose and play on an old record player. The decor is hip and modern. The coffee I had was great and the staff were really friendly. I didnt have anything to eat but looking at the menu, they had a nice selection of sandwiches. The seating area was an interesting selection of two sofas, a bench, and tables and chairs. If youre living in or visiting Portsmouth, this is a great place to visit!

I really wanted to love this place, but the coffee didnt taste great to me! They are serving counter culture coffee and their cafe is certainly well appointed, but the drip coffee disappointed me. It wasnt old, the server who helped me told me it was coming from a brand new fresh out. Otherwise, it was just fine, as the staff were very nice, and the service quick, with lots of seating and pleasant design. If I come back through Portsmouth I will give them a second chance, but Im not going to go out of my way.

This is one of my favorite go-to working spaces in town. The atmosphere is perfect for getting a lot done. They have a record player here and generally play really great tunes. The chairs and couches are comfortable and there are lots of outlets! There are great (yet a bit overpriced) sandwiches. The pour over options are amazing. Everything here is really amazing, aside from the overpriced food.

This place has a nice atmosphere, pretty good coffee, and good pastries. They do a pour over, though I will say the barista got distracted midway through making my pour over and let it sit for a while. If you are serious about your pour over coffee this would be a grave sin. I didnt care too much though. I also really like the large record collection from you can make requests. Nice touch.

I started going here when I walked past it to visit my parents at the hotel across the street. I immediately fell in love. They have reasonable hours, its a great place to study and do my homework, the coffee and tea is great, and the staff is very nice. Its quite homey and never so busy and loud you cant do work, which is a problem Ive found with coffee shops in the area.

As far as I can tell this is the only third wave coffee shop in Portsmouth, and its very good. Id say "great" if it werent for some inconsistency in the espresso drinks. Ive had the full range, from utter perfection to sour extractions and overheated milk that loses its froth in minutes. The staff are very nice, friendly. The place is cool and comfy.

The owner and baristas were very nice. They have albums from New Age to Rock and Roll that theyll play upon request, which was really cool. The froth on the iced latte was perfect, and the sandwiches were delicious. Will go back if we make it to Portsmouth again.

This shop just opened in July 2015. Its a high end coffee joint with Chemex pour-overs as well as all kinds of espresso drinks. Friendly staff and a turntable playing vinyl records. Spacious and welcoming. Worth a visit.

Ive started becoming a regular here because their coffee is just great. Its the best coffee of any of the coffee shops in the area for me. Its kind of expensive but its also strong.

I ordered the nitro cold brew and it was delicious. I brought my 3 year old which was a bad decision, but the staff were all very kind and friendly still.

The chocolate chip cookie was just ok, Ive definitely had better in the area. The only cool part was the bench by the window and the records.

Nice location and friendly service. Soy latte is very good. Chai latte is a little too sweet but still worth a try.
