Majority of the shop floor is dedicated to clothing, and they have a substantial amount of staff with little knowledge of fishing. They do have great product, but it irritates me to think that someone potentially purchasing several hundred dollars or more of fly fishing equipment may be receiving guidance from someone who is not an expert in the field. I would expect more from a company with a name and price that is so much greater than the competition.

A few years ago I dove into the largest rod purchase to date and sprung for a Helios 9 ft 5 wt. Expensive but figured I had paid my dues...the rod was amazing. Unfortunately a vacuum cleaner mishap sucked the rod tip and snapped it. Sent it back in - divulging my idiocy in vacuum handling. Just received a new replacement Helios 2! I am a customer for life...its one thing to print a guarantee and quite another to make good on it. Thank you Orvis!!
