I am a frequent customer, visiting at least once a week. The Atmosphere is what anyone could want out of a cute comfortable little Bookstore, but on a Huge scale. I disagree with the Previous Posts, that everyone is unfriendly. Although I will say the Manager in question is very Aloof and quite frankly appears rude at times. That being said..... The rest of the Staff is ALWAYS over and above in Helpfulness and friendly. I have never received bad service from the staff. In fact, they are willing to Drop anything they are doing , at any time, to help me with my selections. And with a smile every single time. The people they on staff Love books, and appear happy to be there. Every single Staff person is educated in the different Genres of the Books, and can make excellent suggestions. I look forward to going every week. The Selection as mentioned before is amazing. And they will order anything else you want, at no extra cost to you. Which I have never had to do because of the size of their selections. The prices are definitely not the cheapest on the newest stuff. HOWEVER, they have the biggest used section of any bookstore Ive been too, which are decently priced. And they have a very Large "Clearance" Area, that is usually out front in the summer. And I have got Beautiful Coffee Table books and Bestsellers for $1 on regular basis (Normally $40-$50). There IS something here for everyone. The Cafe is Delicious, But the Price of a little cafe. Ranging $6-$12 for hot food. You Can get muffins, danishes, ect. for $2-$4. And the Cafe to eat in is beautiful. With free WIFI. This is my favorite "mommy-needs-a-break" Spot. :) For $10, I can buy a new book or two and get an Italian soda or some lunch, and in an adorable location. Very happy customer here.

If it wasnt for the Store Manager (55ish, blonde), I would rate it a 5 star. She is rude and always seems about a half second away from pulling out an assault rifle on everyone. I believe her attitude runs downhill as there seems to be a lot of dour employees there too. Last time I was there, an employee seemed to be concerned about me. I was dressed in winter clothes and had a ball cap on. I also noticed she did -not- verify the name on credit cards with the signatures on the credit slips on the two customers ahead of me, but, she -did- mine. Unacceptable. Either verify everyones, or no ones. Management: I am sure you know the only way brick and mortar bookstores are going to compete today is by providing a friendly atmosphere for customers; a place where they can rest and relax and have a good experience. Evidently The Store Mgr. needs to be reminded of that. In the last year I have purchased "Rawhide Down," "Brothers in Arms, " 2 - HP Lovecraft paperbacks, "The Last Templar (used)," HG Wells Collectors Book," The Original Illustrated Sherlock Holmes," 2 - Richard Matheson paperbacks, "Enemies," "Jack Kennedy, Elusive Hero," and more that I have forgotten. You wont die without my business, but, just pointing out I do buy and I am a regular customer, even if I dont dress as nicely as other customers.

I love this place! I always have a great experience and find the staff very helpful and very nice. I especially find Tay always cheerful and helpful. I can get great gift ideas from her. Aubrey, is another great associate at Schulers Books. She has helped me several times to find books. The used book staff, has every time been courteous and friendly, even when they are swamped with books to look over. I have never had a problem selling my used books, and they have been helpful in letting me know when I could get more money selling online for some books. I enjoy the Cafe too. The food is great and the service is very nice and the turn around on my food order is always quick. Thank you Schuler Books for a great store and great staff. Keep up the great work.

Very expensive prices at this book store. The manager may ellen wood is horrible. She is confrontational with customers. She often tells them to leave the store if they do not buy the over price books. You can get all the books cheaper on amazon. The staff is very rude and not helpful or friendly. The owners are based in grand rapids, Michigan and do not care about the net profit it seems. Avoid this store. I would not go there again.!

Schuler has a great selection of history, fiction, and graphic novel titles--and even better used section. For teaching its also great, because I can generally find whatever book I need to plan a unit. While not the cheapest place to shop for books, its more than made up for by helpful and knowledgeable staff, fantastic selection, and speedy checkouts (unlike some other stores).

Schulers quite frequently has a wider selection than larger chain stores. This alone would be enough to reccommend it if the atmosphere in the store wasnt also conducive to relaxed book browsing. Quite like a library where you can buy the books!

Great cafe (top notch selection, reasonable prices), inspiring atmosphere for a writer, excellent selection of books, fabulous service, and they host lots of fun and informative events. I shop there for gifts and books, and I write there often.

Ive been shopping here for a decade. That always have the latest books and a ton on fun games, vinyl, nerdy stuff and magazines. If I ever need to kill an hour in Eastwood waiting for a movie or dinner reservation, this is the place to go.

Nice coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. There are a lot of used books to choose from, new books, stuffed animals, unique gifts, popular art supplies, and a handful of other non-book items.
