Lovely Southern Life
*This review is for the coffee I purchased online.* My husband and I love specialty coffee. We ran across the website and decided to place an order. It was so good we ended up ordering three or four times. The box features a cute red lobster, and packaging for the coffee has a quirky, hand drawn graphic for each type. They even included a handwritten postcard thanking us for making the purchase. We tried the Lobster Butter Love, Bad Women, Portland in the 90s, Espresso, and the Rich French Neighbor. My absolute favorite is the Bad Women and my husband favored the darker Portland and Neighbor roasts. I love the fact that they offer small sample sizes and reasonable shipping rates.

Roos Roast is some of my favorite coffee. I order it to Boston and now to SF when I can. I also use the holidays as an excuse to buy it for friends and family. The coffee is great, and I love the personality and attitude and creative spirit of the owner and the brand in its entirety. Its as local as it gets. If you get to meet the owner, youll notice its about as fun as the coffee is delicious. Hes clearly having a great time, hes happy, and is clearly passionate about the product and the brand. I really miss this coffee and this brand (since I moved), but will definitely continue to drink lobster love from San Francisco until I get back to Ann Arbor!

According to John Roos, “Coffee is a commitment. It’s a commitment to the quality of the purchasing of the coffee, it’s a commitment to roasting, it’s a commitment to who you buy it from, it’s a commitment to the people you sell it to.” And Roos has brought this philosophy to life at RoosRoast. This small bohemian coffee shop, tucked away off the beaten path in Ann Arbor, specializes in espresso made with ethically sourced beans. Many would consider it a coffee Mecca of sorts, and come from all around to try the famous triple-shot long-pull coffee made with their signature blend, Lobster Butter Love.

Got there early before work and there were still a decent number of people in line! Baristas were nice, quick, and efficient. I was tired, am not a coffee connoisseur, and have a hard time drinking strong black coffee so I had them recommend something for me, they told me to try the Tanzania and it was really good! They have these protein balls for a morning snack that are tasty and delicious. We got street parking but it looked like they had a lot. Free Wi-Fi here with cool, interesting decor to admire during a quick study break. Would highly recommend this place for anyone and everyone!

Nice Honey Vanilla Latte, but I wouldnt get the sandwiches again. They were almost 3 inches long, and came with only 2 very thin slices of meat with some cheese on it...so thin the taste of the iberico ham all but disappears between the baguette. It was very disappointing because it was so sparse and tiny, to say the least. The café is much like any other funky artsy hipster café around. Kind of a mixed bag, no great urge to go back. Their coffee remains very good, and I would just stick to buying it around town.

of course the coffee is the best. thats hands down. but the atmosphere and the employees make the experience whole. need to chat? sit at the counter and its like having your hairdresser there for you. need quiet? sit in the corner and folks leave you to yourself. need an informal meeting? theres almost always space at the big table to set up a meeting for a few people. love this place. and as i sit here right now im realizing the music is always just right too.

Wowzaaa !! I just tried a variety of the coffees at the A2 Farmers Market - they have a special limited offer vip blend of panama - its UNREAL. If you like a darker roast they let me taste out Mother Phesant Plucker - which was also awesome. I really enjoy the Lobster Butter Love which I frequently get at Exlir on Maynard St. Im looking forward to their breakfast burrito party on Friday at the brick and morter shop!

Roos Roasts people are as awesome as their coffee. Friendly, easy-going, and always thoughtful. Seriously, its pretty amazing actually. And if you go regularly, be sure to ask for a punch card. Theyre one of the few places that still reward folks so simply for repeat business. Plus a great bohemian atmosphere of the sort other places try to emulate, but Roos Roast comes by it naturally.

This is great coffee with a great story. The company was started by two guys, one a roaster and one a grower, right here in Ann Arbor. The coffee is excellent, a mix of beans from several Guatamalan plantations, and they deliver for free within A2 city limits! Try a cup! I am so happy to have found this company! You can call them direct or get it at Hillers. Love it!

Great local roaster with great tasting blends. I thoroughly enjoy most of the blends offered as well as the occasional spicy mocha they offer. Inside seating can fill up fast depending on the hour, but theyre is some outside seats as well. Parking can get a little tight on the side, but there are spots in the back as well as street parking. Definitely worth checking out!

This is by far my favorite coffee shop in this town. Friendly coffee shop and great drinks. My go to is a long pull of the lobster butter love coffee. But if I want to be fancy their honey vanilla lattes are amazing. If your are sick, get a fever buster and you will begin to feel better. Great space for meetings or just working on things.

This is the best coffee in Ann Arbor, in my opinion. I always buy their coffee beans which are roasted here. Roos started the business as a coffee roaster which makes a lot of difference, I think. Also, I love their triple pull coffees, done like espresso but particularly researched to make a perfect large cup of coffee.

I literally just walked in and I can feel the love. I have never had a drink like this. The small warm feeling gives you excitement to just be here and look at the walls, books or just sit and people watch. I live about four minutes away, and just moving here to A2, Im so excited to say Ive found my hometown coffee shop!

Hands down the BEST little coffee shop in the Ann Arbor area. Lobster Butter coffee beans make for a great home brew and nothing comes close to their latte. Great little place and service is nearly always friendly. Few danishes and chocolate available. Were been coming here for quite some time and keep coming back.

Amazing all-around! Its a cozy place with delicious, freshly-roasted coffee and a helpful, affable staff. You cant go wrong with their signature Lobster Butter Love blend (its sooooo smooth). The protein balls are also a delicious morsel of food. Definitely worth a visit! Only downside is the line.

Absolutely the best coffee in Michigan! The atmosphere within the shop is fun and lighthearted, but passionate about coffee. The staff know their coffee. The coffee is always fresh too. Im now spoiled by the quality of both the product and staff. Anything less than Roos is now inferior to me.

If you live in or near Ann Arbor, or have ever driven through and gotten coffee anywhere else, youre doing it wrong. Seriously. Whether its the classic Lobster Butter, the Chai Bomb, Fever Buster or anything else on their menu; youll never want to visit another shop again!
