My family and I went to Family Dollar and noticed an employee was outside of the store smoking a cigar. We assumed that he was on his break and another employee would help us out. That was not the case at all. While waiting several minutes in line to check out, we eventually rung the bell. The employee from outside of the store tried to communicate with us through the window by using hand gesture. After telling him I could not hear him, he put his cigar out and returned to "work" reluctantly. We will never return to this store and will spend the extra money by shopping at Target.
