I came to this Nordstrom to get a bridesmaid dress alterations. After calling and emailing beforehand to verify they could handle a custom dress alteration with no response for weeks, I was finally able to get through to an associate who helped set up an appointment after several attempts at contact again. Note: I was forced to use the Columbia Nordstrom as no other stores in MD offer bridesmaid dress alterations, or that is what each store manager responded with. Getting the alterations was relatively painless. However, picking up the dress was a nightmare. Not only did I have to pay $40 more for my alterations than another bridesmaid who got the same type of alterations done but more inches off, the store lost my dress and I spent over an hour on the phone being tossed around to different departments while they tried to find the dress. Somehow I got connected to a person who found it, so when I went to pick it up I experienced the same issue where no one could find the dress. Very disappointed in Nordstroms lack of organization and professionalism throughout this experience. I firmly recommend you go elsewhere for alterations.

Went to Colimbia Mall Nordstrom for the first time and spent there 15 minutes maximum. I dont think i will ever come to this Nordstrom again. There was a sales people everywhere, literally EVERYWHERE, TOO MANY OF THEM and every each of them comes up to me and ask me if i need help. But this help wasnt offered good, professional way. It was terribly annoying and would make any customer uncomfortable. I didnt fell welcome at this store, i felt like those people just afraid that i will still something and they watching me very closely to the point that i said to myself : " Now this is ridiculous! I came here to shop and those people making me leave this store without buying anything. It was most unprofessional rude and unpleasant sales staff i ever met. Terrible experience. Each customer need some space to browse around without anybody choking them with their fake willingness to help.

As a professional secret shopper and consumer within the Howard Country region, I was appalled with the service at this Nordstrom location. The store manager should be working at a JCPenny do to her lack of customer service skills and need I say, class. Being rude, second guessing the consumer and not accepting a return with proof of purchase is appalling and NOT what Nordstorm has built their foundation on. Nordstorm should fall within the category of high end department stores such as Saks and Neiman Marcus--unfortunately, this location falls short due to the poor leadership. Needless to say, the community talks, and word of mouth travels fast, change the leadership, or loose long term cliental.

Good food and fun atomosphere. I went today for lunch with family. The Red Velvet cupcake was amazing and big enough to split between at least two people. It is a Panera esque restaurant with the way you are expected to order your food and the way they have the baked goods arranged. The staff was friendly and seemed intelligent. The food court has healthy options but no where near as healthy as a restaurant. The Nordstrom cafe is a great alternative for the food court and is still very family friendly. If you are looking for a restaurant that is quick but still sit down style, look no further than the Nordstrom Cafe.

Went shopping yesterday and was helped by Nana in the shoe department. He was nice, patient, and friendly. He really took care of me and I appreciate his help. Some of the customers were not so nice to him while I was present, but he remained calm and respectful. Nordstrom is lucky to have Nana. Also, this is the best Nordstrom I have been in. There is a great selection of items and I will definitely be doing some fall shopping at this location. The one thing they could improve on though, is more sales representatives. It seems to be a little understaffed.

Having lost my hair and eyebrows due to medical treatment, I ventured into the cosmetics department, searching for someone to show me how to "fake" my eyebrows, even up my skin tone and look more "normal." I had my doubts that anyone could help, but a young woman named Gabie took the time to work with me, recommend some different products, and show me how to apply them. Best of all, there was no hard sell or pressure to buy. But I did buy them and left feeling better than I had in months. I would highly recommend this cosmetic department to anyone.

This mall has the worst traffic pattern/mall security I have ever seen. Tried calling to discuss the major issues/delays with their traffic pattern and was placed on hold and transferred back and forth from guest services to mall security 3 times. Issues were never resolved even though guest services said they had mall security at the scene of the issues- they did not. Awful experience...simply Awful! I will return only to go in for guest services to write a report and complaint. Insane!

Purchased a suit here, and was overall pleased with the experience. I had selected and paid for my suit, and had walked out of the store when I received a call. The sales clerk ringing me up had discovered that the pants and suit were mis-matched. She saved me some headache with that call. The suit purchased was on-sale, and for an unexpected funeral, so price and timing were both kinda big. Tailoring was done within the promised time.

Very unpleasant experience today. I went in to ask questions about a watch I purchased and it was very clear the women there were more concerned with trying to get a sale from new customers as they walked in instead of helping me. When one of the women finally helped, she rushed her answers and her demonstration with how to resize the watch. Just a reminder why the drive to Towson isnt that bad after all.

Dont waste your time going into this Nordstrom. It looks as though they started a remodel and decided to just liquidate instead. Sparse doesnt do justice to the retail desert that is this store. I was in there today with my husband and we were shocked to the point of googling "Columbia ND Nordstrom closing". I used to be able to shop here instead of driving to Bloomingdales but no more. Sad to see.
