Picture this: A time machine. Are you picturing it? What do you mean no?! Just close your eyes and picture it...thank you. Now! Quick! Open your eyes. Wider...WIDER...DO IT! Tell me, what did you see? Oh really, you did? Thats pretty damn cool. I wish I was able to picture a time machine when I closed my eyes. Such a shame *Lowers head in defeat* Now Imagine being able to do all that without having to close your eyes and all at a stellar half price. Wouldnt that be the dream? Well youre in luck let me tell you. This place is a time machine into the past, present, and future. Movies, TV Shows, Books, Music, and Video Games spanning all of space and time. Its like Woah! Dinosaurs and then its like OH MY GOD! Space. Its amazing all that you can learn at this amazing half price. Gosh we live in such a kick butt world, in a super cool time. *Biggest of smiles* *Happiest of sighs* Half Priced Happiness!

This place is amazing and the reason for that is because they offer really good prices , a relatively large selection of books, Fair organization , some games , and an opportunity to sell books if you really want to. Theres the big thing telling you this place is completely optional everyone knows that they sell books and videos and games at a very low price in order to do that they have to buy them at an exceedingly low price. You are not forced to sell to them if you bring something in for them to look at all these reviews with people whining about how low they buy stuff from them at really should put the effort into selling them themselves if it concerned about getting the biggest return on whatever they paid for whatever book theyre trying to sell. As a bookstore, and a used book store at that , this place simply cannot be beat.

Went to buy something yesterday and watch 4 employees as I stood in line to check out stare at me. Only one in line do a little confusing why no one offered to ring me up. I left without my merchandise, will not go back. Aside from that they charge more then retail on movies and games plus they low ball you on stuff there selling for like 50 bucks. Im sorry $1 is not compared to what your selling it for. Not to mention the employees never offer to help aside from one guy that I hope went to a better company and I think no longer works there.

Book sellers beware! When selling your quality books and vinyl records, these guys are quite miserly. We brought in 26 large boxes of books to sell, many of which were filled with Dorling Kindersley (DK) childrens books and computer textbooks, some I paid $90 apiece. We only got $30 for my entire library! If I would have sold each book on e-bay for one dollar, I would have made well over $200. If only I could take back my Bing Crosby album. That was worth $30 alone!

I come here more for buying books, and I like the prices. But I had some books and movies that I brought in to sell, and they were all in very good condition and they told me that they were damaged and could only give me $11 for all of them, mind you there were 10+ movies (they werent scratched I checked every single one before bring them in) in addition to a few books that I had, that were also in good condition. Felt like a slap in the face to be completely honest.

Went in looking for books by a specific author and after searching through a section I was not able to locate one. Went to the info center and asked if they could do a search by author and she said "yes!". She looked it up and found two books by that author and took me directly to each one. Will definitely go back again and again. They also have an awesome selection of Dr. Who and Star Wars collectibles, among others, that are so fun to look through.

My favorite bookstore! Theres not a steady inventory since its based on what people bring in to the store, but rather an eclectic collection of books. Its my go-to place when Im looking for knitting/crocheting and crafting books, plus I love the antique book area. Be sure to check out the back section to find discounted books for $1-$3 each. If you cant find what youre looking for in the store, check the online site.

Brought in a box of old books I hadnt read in years. Walked out with cash. What do 1-star reviews think this is, some kind of high-end consignment shop? Never heard of "buy low, sell high"? Why dont you complain that goodwill doesnt give you ANYTHING, or else go on eBay and do all the legwork yourselves. Weirdos. Books are very reasonably priced, store is well-laid out, employees were very helpful.

I always enjoy looking at their selection of value priced video games. Alot of it is really old stuff, but they have some good classics and some pretty amazing prices. I also look at their DVD/Blu-Ray selection. Their used Blu-Ray prices I would say are a rip-off most of the time, though I run into some good deals there as well.

They always have clearance, which is nice. You can get books for as little as $2 sometimes. I sold some books there, but they dont give you much unless its a bestseller, like Divergent. Overall, a good place. The staff has always been friendly. They even have language books for French, Italian, ect.

Friendly staff. Quiet place. Cheap books, anything you could imagine reading. Fun to wander and discover. Half price means they also dont buy for much. I got less than $1/book... But who else are you gonna sell to? Better than giving them away.

Half Price Books always has strong foot traffic, which reflects that people know they will find good variety, helpful staff, and inexpensive options. My family has a wide genre palate, and we never feel short of options at HPB.

Wow what can I say.....only that the service is GREAT. Check it out,,,,,I ordered a DVD Friday and got on the next Monday two days later. Plus everyone was so polite over the phone. Oh did I mention that I live near Houston.

This place is a rip off they only offered $5 for 22 books and 2 never been opened movies.....ended up returning movies to walmart for more than 3 times the amount they offered and that was just from the 2 movies

Horrible. Prices are near and above new prices on most used items. They give less then 5% of what they intend to sell an item for. The policies are not customer friendly. Ill spend my money elsewhere myself

Good prices on outbound purchases. If youre.looking to make a.few bucks.bringing things in, might want to rethink that. Employes mostly appear as though theyd rather be doing anything else besides be there.

Great deal on books if you buying but not a good deal on books if you are trying to sell. I would suggest taking your books and donating them to local library or schools and take a tax deduction.

Brand new dvds anywhere are 5 dollars. These people ripoff the people who bring in movies paying 5 to 10 cents a dvd then ask 5 dollars for used movies. Worth maximum 2 to 3 dollars ever. Losers
