Malinich installed a new watch battery for me. I didnt look at the watch until the next morning and noticed that a dial on it was spinning rather fast. I went back and asked him to take a look at it. I asked as nicely as I could if maybe he installed an incorrect battery or nicked something while installing the battery. I explained that the dial on the watch was not spinning fast when I brought it in for the new battery. He told me it was a specialized watch and I should contact Seiko and/or send it to them to check it out. He started getting defensive and raising his voice at me. The woman there was nice and told me that he was frustrated with watch batteries. Im not sure what that meant. Was he frustrated with the quality of watch batteries he was getting? Was he frustrated with having to install watch batteries? Was he frustrated with complaints about watch batteries? Was he frustrated with people coming in with the $2 coupon for a watch battery install? In any case, I was just looking for an answer about my watch. I am willing to accept that this dial spinning fast was a coincidence with a new battery install. I didnt know why the watch dial was spinning fast and I tried to talk with him about possible explanations, and more importantly, what to do to fix it. The fact that he raised his voice at me and took out his battery frustrations on me made me decide to leave their store and never go back. I then took the watch to Roger Bonnema, a jeweler in South Holland. He looked at the watch and had it working properly five minutes later. It turns out, there was nothing wrong with the watch. Roger explained to me that the fast spinning dial was a function of the alarm – an alarm I didn’t even know the watch had. Shame on me for not knowing about the functions of the watch, but if Malinich had just taken a few minutes to try to diagnose that fast spinning dial on the watch, I think that visit to them would have ended cordially and this review would not exist. I was going to give Malinich one star instead of two, but everyone has a bad day once in a while, and I didnt know that this dial in question was part of the alarm function of my watch.
