I bought a dog bed for my dog about 3 months ago. The bed said "machine washable." So, we wanted to wash it after some time, and eventually we put it in the dryer, and the bed completely fell apart. We had already misplaced the receipt, and called the store to tell them what happened, and the manage informed us to to just come by to replace it using store credit. When we got there the manager told us to never put the bed in the dryer, but to wash it, and just let it air dry. Would have been nice if that was common knowledge or if the bed actually had directions stating that. So after searching through the beds (they no longer had the exact bed) with wrong prices on the shelves we finally picked one. We asked about the washing instructions, and the tag once again said "machine washable." We were on our way. Weeks later, its dirty, and we would like to wash it. We go to put it in the washer, bed tears up again. So now, we are very upset about this, We go back into the store, and the person greeting us at the door has a complete attitude. She never apologized or showed empathy at all. Almost as if this kind of thing happens all the time. After dealing with the rude person we finally get clear to go pick out another bed, again. We found another bed, and added a bit more money to insure that we get a better quality bed. She informs us to try taking all of the stuffing out, and just wash the outer layer of the bed. So time goes by, week later again, we wash the bed. Did exactly what they said...TEARS UP again, and this time causes water to leak outside of the washing machine. So we called them again, and talked to a manager, again rude. He wants us to bring in the dripping wet bed, and I didnt mention it before but we already had to bring it in the first time. Imagine having to bring a bed, torn up, dripping wet back to the store, that you had to place in your car. So now, they want us to do this again. Its not so much that the product tore up over and over,....its really about the lack of customer service. They never seem to care, or even really help. I would advise staying away from this place. Check out the other reviews. Noticing a pattern? Im sure mine wont be the last review. I will definitely be spending my money for my dog elsewhere. I suggest you do the same.

My daughters used their birthday money to buy a total of 3 guinea pigs and 1 cage. The cage was going to be used for 1 of the 3 guinea pigs. The cage was recommended by PetSmart employee. We had another, similar cage at home for the other 2 guinea pigs. The 3 guinea pigs were bought on May 25, 2010. On June 9, one of the guinea pigs died. The store did replace the guinea pig. 2 days later it died. This morning the 2nd of the original 3 guinea pig died. The manager told me it was because they were in the wrong type of cages. When I told him it was recommended, he indicated that there wasnt any proof of that. Why would my child buy a cage. The manager indicated that guinea pigs have to be in bedding and cant be in a wired bottom cage. Yet when these guinea pigs were purchased with the cage, the sales person had recommended the cage and had said that the bedding was to keep down the smell. She had even mentioned that newspaper could be used. I was even more upset on the phone, as the manager implied that I was not truthful, when he said he didnt have any way to know that the cage had been recommended even after I told him the sales person name. $105.00 from my daughters for 3 guinea pigs, plus the cost of the cage for 3 guinea pigs + the cost of the 2 bags of guinea pig food and 2 water bottles. My daughters are 10 and 13 and this is how PetSmart treated them. I am very upset.

I took my 7 month old Shih Tzu there for his 2nd ever cut (the first time we went to Super Petz) but they were booked so i went to PetSmart. I will never go there again! My dog was matted up and i had asked them to just shave him, so she said he would be shaved, nails clipped and ears cleaned. When they called and said he was ready(which was 3 hours later) she told me that she was unable to trim the hair on his face because he would not sit still, i understood, he is a very hyper puppy. i got there and he was shaved, very shaggy looking, in some spots you can see his skin! and his head... wow! they did not even touch it! not his ears or anything! And they also did not even give him a bath! So here is my puppy with pretty much no hair on his body and a full head of hair! he looked like a bobble head dog!! They did cut the price in half, i guess even they thought he looked horrible, but i took him home and was able to trim up his face and ears myself, but later while playing with him he jumoed up and scratched me! three red claw marks right on my chest, i dont think they even clipped his nails! Needless to say from now on i will call SuperPetz two weeks in advance and NEVER go to PetSmart for ANYTHING.

Completely awful experience. We have taken our dog here previously to get his nails trimmed, and they accepted our rabies verification. Today, we took him to get groomed and they told us that our paperwork didnt show the rabies vaccination. Pointed it out to them and showed them where it says rabies and what date he got it and what date is was due to be vaccinated again. They accepted this, and then they told us it would be 4 hours... 4 hours??? I thought this was an appointment, not an all day engagement. Then they came back to us and said that since the paperwork does not show his name, they can not accept it as rabies verification. Uhm we adopted him from the KY humane society, he didnt have the same name as he was ADOPTED. And the KY humane society vaccinates all dogs. They were just trying to decrease their pet load today as they overbooked. Completely unprofessional, looking for every excuse to have less pets.

All of their reptiles are in enclosures that are way too small, I asked about this and their response was "well theyre only here temporarily", one albino ball python had been there for 4 months. She was way over priced and sickly, you could have gotten the same morph at a bigger size and better condition for half the price from a breeder. They also sell Reptile Calcium sand which claims to be safe for reptiles, IT IS NOT, it just causes impaction slowly over time instead of all at once. They sell you sand that shortens the life of your reptile so once it dies, you go out and buy another one from them, put it on "safe" calcium sand, slowly kill your reptile, and repeat. On facebook, many of my friends have posted pictures of their horror stories, such as a mutilated dogs from the groomers, with no explanation, dead pets, and terrible living conditions.
