I bought a local ink cartridge brand as suggested by walgreen photo expert but it gave me really bad quality printout and I had no other choice but to go back in exchange it for HP cartridge. Here begins my story: I went to the store and requested an exchange. Since all the print cartridges are in lock mode, only store manager (or asst. manager) has access to unlock and give you the cartridge. And so it happened and I paid of the balance remainder at the photo center cashiers. Meanwhile, my wife decided to buy some stuff and we went pay for those items to main cashiers (as photo cashiers was unattended again). I kept the cartridge open in front of the cashier and when she asked if I have paid for it, I said yes. She started behaving weirdly as if I am trying to steal something from the store and requested me a receipt. At that point, I simply said that I wont show the receipt because of two reasons: 1. She made an announcement to have the manager unlock and exchange the cartridge and she watched her coming out of the photo center cashiers. 2. Secondly, most importantly, she was not clearly saying if she was accusing me of stealing. I just felt it very awkward of the whole situation and told the manager about it. In the end, manager supported her employee (and they are friends). I think, Skokie has a diversified population and Walgreen should really put some one is more trained in managing customers from various cultural background. Until, I see a different face, I, personally, will never go there and shop again. And will not change my review rating. There are many many hard working people in this country who can provide a better service to the customers and we really need one them in this store.

The pharmacy personnel at this Walgreens are just great...always pleasant, and numerous times have gone out of their way to be helpful -- even when busy. As a previous reviewer pointed out Majid is wonderful. Connie was just recently very helpful with a special request, and others whose names I dont know have been great as well. They genuinely seem to care about their customers.

There are lots of Walgreens near me, but the head pharmacists at this one are what really sets it apart. So friendly and accomodating. Despite how busy they are, they really try to put a smile on their customers faces. (Review is specifically for the pharmacy portion, although the rest of the store -- while in need of a facelift -- is fine .)
