Was there yesterday to return some stuff and the cashier refunded me less than what I had calculated. I thought maybe while returning they dont refund the tax and asked the cashier about it. He exactly knew that he had made a mistake in calculating my refund because he printed out the refund receipt and pointed out the taxes on it to let me know that taxes had been refunded and threw away the receipt instead of giving it to me. I went back this morning and let them know that they had infact made a mistake and finally the cashier says you are right we added one of your returns instead of deducting it and gave me the difference back. Please please check your receipts they are out there to fleece people. All along both the guys working on the desk knew that they had not refunded me the right amount but it seemed like they were more intereseted in making a few bucks by stealing. I have heard from a couple of other people that they are really bad about scamming people while buying stuff from them. Be Careful. BTW this is the Play it Again Sport in Northbrook.

Never sell your equipment here. I had the manager( thin guy with glasses) look over some of my equipment and shove one of my hockey gloves over my nose telling me the smell makes him not able to sell my gloves for more than $35. They had no smell and were warrior luxes ($189 retail) worn twice, with used gloves from 1990 on there rack for $50. So I did not sell them, upon looking around the store I found one of my old used Harrow sticks marked at $89 I remember like yesterday this same manager saying he would only sell it for $50, which means i should of got more money at there 20 percent rate. This manager is a scam artist and knows nothing more then how to rip people off and should be fired for fraud. There is a reason they dont send you home with the paper work of what there are selling your items at and what they give you. Never sell here take your business elsewhere. Hopefully thin manger with glasses gets removed soon for he cant keep scamming people forever and will eventually scam the wrong person.

I got my ski equipment from here. Mr Mark is a very Nice and Joyous guy. Got a pair of skies And went home And tested the bindings with the ski boots. Unfortunately , the bindings on one were defective în a manner that even the store manager could not figured out how was possible to be hidden like this. Went back the next day and got another pair of skies which I did love the same day on the slopes of Mount Wilmot in Wisconsin. Knowledgeable staff, friendly and a lot of items to choose from. Beats the hell out of Sports Authority at new item prices. The second hand stuff...well is second hand but there are some snowboards amazingly new at dirt cheap prices. Boots too. Overall I brought 3 more friends and nobody complain at all. Were all happy to see that we dont spend thousands of dollars for stuff that get used only few times a year. Thank you Play It Again Sports !

Attempted to return a defective golf travel bag within 24 hours and was told I could only get store credit. I explained to the store manager "Rob" that you sold me a bag with a broken zipper. He told me I broke it and would only give me store credit. I then reminded him I spent over $100.00 of new products on the same reciept so if your going to make me return eveything and use the store credit to rebuy the new item I will. He was very nasty and said that was the policy. So Rob made me return everthing just to rebuy the new item. What a train wreck operation and a perfect example of how to make a regular customer NEVER come back again.

I just purchased new snowboard stuff for my 12yr old and was very pleased with the service. Staff was polite and helped us pick out the right size board and bindings. We werent rushed and I felt like my business was important which means a lot to me being customer service. Good job guys and thanks for your help.

Came in for a treadmill and got one for a decent price. Alex helped me with it and seemed to know a decent amount about the treadmill itself. They helped me load it into my corolla (not an easy task) and even offered delivery. Overall, a good store for used sporting goods.
