Keep Your Receipt!!! I was accused of stealing a 10 lbs. bag of Russet potatoes ($1.49). Now granted, there was a display of them located between the entrance and exits, and I did not elect to have the ones I PURCHASED be bagged, as they were already in a bag to begin with, but the Columbo style sting operation that was implemented to crack down on the alleged tater "theft" was overly excessive. I understand the need to cut down on theft is a huge concern for retailers, but only an OFFICER OF THE LAW can detain someone or legally suspend civil liberties where applicable. I understand HOW the store associate made a mistake by assuming I pilfered the potatoes as I left the store, but their demeanor was unacceptable even after I produced a receipt contrary to their allegation. Furhthermore, I received no apology for their mistake. My advice is to Berwyn Produce is to treat your customers like you want to be treated and while youre at it, check out a document called The Bill Of Rights. I am going to save all of my receipts from now on, however they will ALL be from other retailers. I will then mail them to you so you can see how much revenue you were willing to give up for a measly $1.49.

Sadly I use to love shopping here for my meats and Deli. But after yesterdays experience I will never buy meat from them again! The old polish man butcher basically yelled at me when I asked for different kind of meat ( he did not grab it, chop it up, or wrap it yet) I was mistaken on which one to get. He then showed me one wrapped up arrachera some lady ordered and left bc she didnt want it. I said what does that have to do with me! I didnt make you do anything with the meat yet so please stop lecturing me on someone else! I ordered my meat and asked for it a certain way! when i got home, some of the meat was the one he showed me of that ladys who left the meat there!! I didnt order it cut the way she did and thats my main problem. He added it to my order to get rid of it! That is not ok!!

honestly if their were an option for zero stars I wouldve give them zero stars. Ive been coming to this store for as long as I can remember and I dont understand why they cut off their expiration dates for customers to buy and discover that their food is bad and then as they come back to complain you have to fight with them for maybe like $2.00 worth. Its not that we want our money back is that we demand good quality food that wont make us sick. I had just bought a container of chopped fruit and i grabbed it not thinking and when I got home I opened it and it gave out a gross smell I took one bite and it was rotten. I dont have time to go fight for $1.69. So if you have the opportunity check your food very carefully

Manager mistreats employees. The Manager yelled at the cashier in front of me. Demanding that the cashier turn and look at him while she was ringing me up. He was telling the cashier that she was suppose to force the customer to purchase the item they left behind. I spoke up and told him that if he yells at his employees in front of customers, I can just imagine how they miss treat the employees behind closed doors. I stated that no one forces anyone to buy something they dont want!!!! I also told him that he lost a customer (me). I hope the cashier didnt get fired because I spoke up for her.

The owners are greedy, arrogant, and ignorant. Theyre also racist and refuse to hire a "colored" person. They dont care about the customers, they dont care about the employees, they only care about the money. I feel bad for the employees they work holidays and always look tied and irritated leading to poor customer service. They sell expired food, and always try to argue with people when they want a refund or an exchange. Over all the produce, meat, and deli are okay.

I used to love this store and was a loyal customer for many years. The last few visits were an absolute waste of money. The food I would buy would be spoiled by the next day. The worst was when I returned chicken that went bad two days before the expiration date. I had returned it the day after purchasing and the employee from the meat department told me it was my fault for not cooking it the day I bought it.

Used to be a nice place but after going back today it seems they got rid of all the latinos so now I spent like 5 minutes waiting just to order my meat. Many of the new workers are rude and slow. What a shame.. Update* they definitely replaced a lot of the workers from the butchers to the cashiers so now the lines are as slow as Walmart

Plenty of mexican products and also serbian and polish. They have a few ready meals every day which is nice. However the women that are serving you are kinda weird super nosy and slow at the same time.

Everybody be very careful if you are buying anything from this store.Check carefully for tampered expiration dates.Usually they use NAIL POLISH REMOVER to white out the dates.
