We bought an oven from Sears Hardware in Batavia IL, and in addition we ordered a $15 broiler pan. When the broiler pan arrived it was all bent and squished on one side and had no packing slip. We returned to Sears hoping that customer service could call on our behalf and get a new broiler pan in the mail since we found a busted broiler pan to be completely inconvenient and were super busy with wedding planning. It was busy and understaffed at Sears that day, and they were training a new employee at the customer service desk that was open for regular check out. The line moved extremely slowly since only one of two registers were open, and when it was our turn we had to wait for a manager to return to the front end to talk to us. First he did not believe us that the shipment had no packing slip or any other info. Despite our appeals and objections, he declared there was nothing he could do, that we needed to call this number from the top half of the order form we had originally sent. He was not interested in our opinions of this process and got us out of the store as quickly as humanly possible. If this store had decent customer service, the manager would have copied our one sheet of paper, taken our contact info, and had called on our behalf to either get a new broiler pan or the mot direct number possible for us to call. The number he sent us out the door saying we needed to call turned out to be a number for rebates, the operator had us hang up and redial the correct line where there was phone tree. In the phone tree, you could select one number as a customer and another as an employee! Turns out that manager at Sears could have saved us an hour and could have delivered the kind of service that Sears likes to to tell us it does. Even after calling the right number, we were put on hold and bounced from dept to dept. In their defense, we are finally getting a new broiler pan with out having to return the busted one (though it really should have been included with the oven in the first place), but it was frustrating getting to this point.

Used to be a dedicated shopper here, but no longer after my instore pickup was never confirmed, nor canceled, nor found. They asked me if my order was my neighbors which it wasnt. I even called the store before hand to request it. It is always the same story there only one or two people work two stand around and shoot the breeze instead of helping the customers. Went to Menards and found it much cheaper with plenty of employees waiting in line to assist you.

The customer service at this location was frustrating. Purchased a ladder and only used it a handful of times. One of the extension brackets stopped working. Store said all product issues had to be handled with the manufacturer. I was mistaken in expecting Sears to stand behind the products that they sell. Disappointing to see a once excellent producer/distributor fail to provide a good experience/product/service.

Very nice store. Very alert and accommodating associate. Associate Kiran had great deal of patience. She did not even lift an eyebrow, for all the times i changed the appliance after she entered it in the computer. I would definitely shop here again.
