Its a sweet little grocery store oasis in what was once a food desert. Always impressed w the options this store consistantly has to offer, the variety is amazing and INCLUSIVE. No matter what your eating habits & preferences may be, or how tight or loose of a budget youre working with.. Theyve kept you in mind when choosing the inventory. You will find low cost staples..such Bread, milk and cheese at prices lower than youll find at the regular supermarket .. Or if you want those same things organic, bread from sprouted grains & cheese locally crafted, youll find those too. During the growing season nearly all of their produce is sourced from local CFA -- truly fresh, with no chemical pesticides or waxes. The prepared foods are also locally made, chef prepared, affordable & delicious. Did I mention the bulk section?

Grassroots is basically a supermarket, minus the junk that you dont need to waste your money on. Whether you need a wholesome meal to recharge after a day of canoeing the Mississippi or just a quick bite after commuting from St. Louis, the variety of ripe, local produce and ready-to-eat sandwiches, salads, and wraps are convenient and VERY tasty. Life is too short to eat processed foods, so why not choose local, organic, and luscious food at great prices? Give them a visit sometime!

Such a delightful lil store! Not to mention the fact that its the only place to even get groceries in the downtown area which is super helpful when you are coming off the bridge from STL after working a long day!
