So I have usually gotten GREAT service at Family Dollar. Under the previous management, I called to see if they had something in stock, the girl that answered the phone went and physically put eyes on the item to verify they had the item in stock. This past Wednesday, I went in to the store for Ocean Spray 100% Juice - Cranberry Juice. Typically when its in stock, I buy 2-3 bottles. It was not in stock. There was a stock cart in the middle of an isle right and I scanned it to see if I saw a box that indicated Ocean Spray but did not spot one. The manager was on the phone with her kids in between checking people out at the register; I know it was her kids because she mentioned to another worker frequently her kids had called that day. As a working mother, I understand about staying in touch with your kids during the day, however this was at approximately 5:45 - a pretty busy time of the day and if its not an emergency, she could have called her child back at a less busy time. When I got to the register she told told me she didnt have any of the juice but probably would on Thursday, but she was not sure she would have it out. So I went back on FRIDAY. Guess what, the same manager was on the phone, another girl was stocking things at the register. There was none of the juice for which I was searching on the shelves. Had there been, I would have purchased at least 3 bottles. I asked the girl stocking about the juice, she said it was probably here but she would have to "jump" over boxes to get to it. I decided not to ask her to do that since she didnt seem that she was willing and went to Walgreens to purchase my juice at a higher price - but they had it in stock. Oh, and the same stock cart that was there on Wednesday, was still there, same stock on the cart - nothing had been removed from it. Just want you to know, money just walked out of your door today. I would have probably seen some things in there that I could use while waiting on her to get the juice out of the stock room. I was very displeased with my last 2 visits there. May just cruise on up to Dollar General (which isnt much further) the next time I need something and dont want to go to Walmart.

First time I have shopped here in years and I get home with my 75.00 worth of items I purchased only to find out that I have to go back and have them take a security tag off a shirt I purchased.,the alarm went off as I was leaving and I asked was everything okay and she said for me to go ahead and leave ! I live on the west end of the county so its 20 miles back to this store . whos gonna buy my gas ? Me of course . I think I should be given a gift card or some kind of gift for having to come all the way back . I will retract my review if they decide to make this up to me . other than that aggravating issue , its a nice store with great prices .
