I frequent this store often and have always been treated very well. However, I tried to return a Star 8 rod because it broke while out on a charter fishing trip. The rod was over a year old, but had only been used maybe 5 or 6 times. The personnel on the charter boat reassured me that Bass Pro Shop would replace the rod, no matter how long you had it no questions asked because it was a Star rod.Their confidence in this would have me believe that they have personally been able to take advantage of this return policy or knew someone that had. However, I was not able to return the rod at may local Bass Pro Shops store. It was explained to me that I would have to return it to the manufacturer. The customer returns person tried to help but explained she couldnt. Then she explained that maybe a manager may be able to help. She contacted the manager who only told her they could not help. I would think the manager would have at least came to speak with me and take a look at the rod. I was disappointed since I felt like they could have exchanged the rod considering the fact that I have been led to believe that someone was able to return theirs. I decided to contact Bas Pro Shops customer support via their website after this leaving the store. After listening to the same story I explained in the store, they said they would replace the rod. They are sending me return postage and will send me a new rod to replace mine once they receive it. It was really disappointing that someone could have made that decision in the store but did not. The question I have is why one person would be able to return their rod but, I was not able to.

I want to let everyone know that I went to the Bass Pro Shop In Port Saint Lucie, Florida, I got a lot of small items but they added up to 489.51. And I was double charged, I have called the store and they said that it was my problem not theirs and there was nothing that they could do and I needed to go to my bank. After complaining for a few minutes she said she would call corporate and see what they could do and get back with me later in the day, she called back and said it would tomorrow before she would get an answer. Today she called back and said it would me next week. It only took them about 10 seconds to take the money out of my account, but yet it is going to be taking them weeks to put it back. I guess I am like most Americans I only have so much money and do not have $500 dollars just sitting around, that extra $500 that they charged me is money that I need to pay bills with. And if my checks get declined Bass Pro Shops is not going to be paying my returned check fees or they are not going to fix my credit rating for having returned checks. So I say to everyone be careful when you go to BASS PRO SHOPS. The person that I have been talking to said that this is not the first time this has happened so they know it happens and are not willing to step up and cover the problem.

I took an Arctic Cat 50 to Tracker Marine that I couldnt get to turn over. A few days later they called me to say it needed the carburetor cleaned, a starter switch, and a relay. I told them I had just cleaned the carb about two weeks prior and didnt want it done. They called a few days later and said I also needed a new starter and again stated I needed the carb cleaned. $50. and the carb was an additional 2 hours labor. The carb thing was a red flag the first time. If you cant get it to turn over, and you havent taken off the carb to see if its dirty, how do they know it needs to be cleaned. I asked what they charged for labor for the carb and they said 2 hours labor. Wow! I told them I have cleaned that carb (removed from ATV, jets all removed, completely cleaned and reassembled in less than an hour and Im just a do-it-yourselfer) several times. I told them not to do anything and picked it up. Since then I have done a bench test with the starter and it spins like a top. So its either the starter switch or the relay. I will not ever do business here again. Dishonest at best. They were ready to take me for about $600. Relay is on Ebay for $35. free shipping.

Well I had a very terrible experience at bASS rape pro shops in PSL, 9 out of ten times I go there I have a very very bad time. Mainly in the archery department, they only have one bald headed guy in the department to do anything. Theres only one other person that can do anything in this department and all he can do is CUT arrows which is bs. I waited 2 hours to wait for the guy to get off his 4 hour lunch break and he is the biggest dick Ive ever met he wouldnt even help me figure out a way to fix the bow he was so short and rude about everything, ( if I could I would give this place one star). My 12 year old cousin bought arrow tips and when I tried to buy arrow tips they I.D me but since Im 17 I cant buy them. I had to send the 12 year old back in to buy my arrow tips. If this wasnt the only place in a 70 mile radius to go for fishing gear then I would never return to this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debated on purchasing a rod and reel from Bass pro or a mom and pop tackle Store. Sold on the ability to be able to return items THERE if anything would have went wrong. After about 10 months of having a $500 reel and rod set up it started to act up. Took it into the location to see if anyone could point me in the right direction. Ended up speaking with the general manager who basically belittled me and told me if it doesnt have bass pros name on it he cant do anything for me. Which is bizarre because the stores credo says we stand behind every item we sell. He did not even let me speak about my problem but instead went and printed out a paper from shimano and told me good luck. This guy needs to hide in his office and never be allowed to speak to a customer ever again. As long as he is in charge I will never let anyone I know buy an item from there!

Ive been a huge fan of Bass Pro Shops for years. I always used the one where I lived in Fort Lauderdale. We moved up here a few months ago and I recently went to the store here in Port St. Lucie. I cant believe the parent corp. would let this store be so pathetic. The staff is RUDE. The exception being ONE guy inlol the fishing section. This is a small slow moving town theres NO REASON for the staff to be so obnoxious. I lived her in the 80s for a couple of years working on a project for my firm. I liked it a lot. Since being back I like it even more. The people are polite the merchants are helpful and our neighbors are great!! I find no reason why this store is so miserable. Fortunately we return to Ft. Lauderdale at least once a week so I take my business there.
