Animal protection is an admirable goal to be sure, and I easily spend hundreds of dollars a month in little stores like this, however after my first visit today, I dont believe I will be returning to this locale. Upon entering I was taken with the decor, as although small the place is well decorated. I was looking for some reading material so I perused the book shelves that are clearly marked, Paperbacks $.50, Hardbacks $1.00, unless otherwise marked. I was in the store for about 30 minutes during which time the register attendant was carping and denigrating the clientele that shop there and made me wait while she finished her tirade. I had chosen one paperback and two hardbacks, one of which was a medical reference, and placed them on the counter. She looks at me like I set a bag of dog-poo on her desk, grabs the reference book looks it over & then glares at me and announces" You know this wont be a dollar!", Its a medical journal! There is of course, no marked price (perhaps just that imaginary sticker on my forehead that says "SUCKER"?) , but nonetheless, she wants to hold me up. Frankly, by this time I had heard enough of her carping and I REALLY do not appreciate her noxious behavior. so I just took my money & left. As I said, I frequent these type of establishments often, and staff that is polite and courteous encourages me to return and spend more money. But I wont be going back here. Note to crabby old Battleax: Retail means dealing with people, if you dont like people, find something else to do.

The is a charming shop and the prices are very reasonable. They are not for profit so any money they get goes to help Gods creatures to have food, medical care and kind human contact. Some animals may never have had kindness shown to them. Man was created in Gods image and was given stewardship over His creatures. After I visited this shop I wanted to give my 2 cents worth and was shocked to read it only had 3 reviews one of which I immediately discounted (1 star 2 years ago). I did not experience anything that would lead me to such a negative review. I hope that my review will bring them more business so that they can continue to take care of Gods creatures. I plan on visiting this store often.

Accidentally called this number instead of the cat shelter, I asked to be directed to the cat shelter and the woman on the phone was incredibly rude. I apologized and asked to either be connected or if I could have the phone number to the cat shelter and she quickly stated the number, didnt bother to repeat it and gave me a harsh toned good bye. I didnt mean to irritate, Im only looking to donate and see if they could possibly take in a rescue kitten. Her attitude was horrendous and I want to love this place but she makes me not want to.

I love this shop. We stop in whenever were in town. The home decor room is like a boutique with lots of pretty and unusual items. The clothing is bargain-priced and displayed nicely. Lots of neat stuff, especially if youre a cat person.

Very clean and decorated like a boutique, smells heavenly in there! The prices are reasonable and the employees have always been helpful (Regular here). They have clothing, some higher end household items and a decent selection of books.
